Just a thought: Could Poncho be pregnant? Its very common for young rabbits to be inaccurately sexed. And even if both Poncho and Pepper truly are girls, they could perhaps have been in contacts with other rabbits before they came to you?
A rabbit is pregnant for 30-33 days. A day or so before the rabbit gives birth, she will want to make a nest.

Bam replied to the topic Why is my rabbit chewing his food bowl? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 4 months ago
It is a bit weird that a bun chooses to chew on ceramics. It probably does taste of his food. Ceramics could be food safe for a human but still not healthy to actually eat. Ceramic glaze can be non-toxic, but it still is a form of glass, and eating glass would never be good.
Could you attach one of his chew toys to the cage bars or some other…[Read more]

Is there a reason the area is still divided? Do they ever share the litter boxes at the same time? Referencing this quote,
“he still peeing outside his litter box, mainly around the fence that separates him and his bigger bunny friend.”
Can you restrict them both to the main room where their boxes are for a while? Sometimes giving rabbits t…[Read more]

Cloudiness in the eyes can also gradually appear during old age.

In bunny language, nipping often means “move” or “stop that”. It’s not meant to cause harm, it’s just their way of communicating. If your bunny nips hard, you can try letting out a high pitched squeal when she does it. This usually gets the point across (i.e. they are hurting you) and they will adjust how hard they nip.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Dwarf lop or mini lop? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
Let’s see… the UK miniature lop is similar to the Holland lop in the US. From my understanding, the lion lop was created by crossing lionheads with UK miniature lops.
It’s confusing, because a UK dwarf lop is similar to a mini lop in the US… and ironically does not carry the dwarfism gene. So, if I’m understanding this correctly, then your…[Read more]

I think he chews it because it has his food’s scent and is tough and stimulating for his teeth. Although he has lots of chew toys, he still loves the bowl. I’m thinking I will just remove it from his area and only give it to him for meal time. He doesn’t chew his water bowl, so that can stay with him.

My family has had poncho, a mini Rex, and pepper, a lion head, for about three weeks now. They are both females. We got them at the local farming supply store, so I’m not sure how old they are. We’ve been interacting with them pretty consistently and they seemed to be reacting well, but all of the sudden a couple days ago poncho nipped my fin…[Read more]

Hi everyone! I got my first bunny on Friday and I love her. She’s a little black otter Holland Lop makes Yumi, and she’s running and binkying happily everywhere. But, I have a question, to be the best bun mom I can be for her.
Along with her I bought hay and feed from the breeder because I wasn’t sure where else to do so. She gave me Timot…[Read more]

They both move freely at home. We have two litter boxes and two food bowl, in two spaces of the same room, which once was owned by each bunny. Now they can both access the same resources, and they don’t seem to care which is which.

I left them out last night and everything seems fine?
Not sure it was any quieter though, they woke me up a few times running around! But I think I am more used to the sound of them running in the condo so I just tune it out, and will prob get used to this too.
Hard to say if my cat was giving them a hard time at any point. At one point I heard…[Read more]
