Ice cubes are OK to play with. But I agree with Wick on her suggestions. 🙂

Yep, and a false dwarf is going to weigh a little more than the “standard” max weight for the breed. 🙂

Thanks for the tips! Yeah, he’s the only one and I’m a first timer so I’m trying to research as much as possible. It’s a learning experience! H’es becoming so curious and I love it, so I want to give him space to explore his new home, he discovered the wonderful world of our stairs last night and it’s been hilarious!!

Pooping indeed is something he’ll want to do and as mentioned, it will probably reduce over time. He’s in a new place and as a prey animal, he wants to make it feel secure and safe. A big part of that is marking so he smells his scent around… thus the poop.

It should be fine, but there are other ways to keep a rabbit cool that can be more effective and long term. https://binkybunny.com/infocategory/cooling-tips/
There are some great cooling tips here!

There is really isn’t much you can do but limit his space for now. His instinct -especially in the coming weeks when his hormones rise- is to mark everywhere. I suggest setting up either an exercise pen or allowing him in a smaller space/room where you can sweep the floor after he’s has poop-bombed it. I know it’s harder to hang out with them…[Read more]

Got a 7 week old little bunny, he’s awesome but poops everywhere, with every hop there is a poop. I’ve provided a corner littler box in his cage, provided a litter box downstairs in the living room, he hops in both so he’s not angry at either. But he poops….all the time. I know he’s young, I want him to explore the space, my home is his home,…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Mites? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
First of all, mites are not a huge deal, so dont be sad. Sparse hair at the back base of the ears is common and normal, but the spot between the shoulder blades is, as you’ve probably read, a typical place where mites can fester, because the bun cant groom himself there. Fur mites are easy to treat, and many buns dont seem bothered by them until…[Read more]

hi! im new here but i could really use some advice. my lionhead rabbit is about five years old. he lives in a big room by himself— i have other animals in the house, but they sparsely interact with him (they’re cats, and aren’t reliably nice to him)! about two months ago, i noticed that he had a bald spot right on the back of his neck, b…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Bunny gagging when eating fruit? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
I agree that excitement or general energy surrounding the fruit may be contributing to it. Since choking is a serious risk (even when successfully dislodged, it can damage the respiratory system in local areas and cause infection), best be safe and make those pieces especially small.

soon enough i’ll be needing to clip my bunny’s nails and groom him a bit, how can I make him sit still? he’s only been with me for three weeks, so he’s not super used to me, but is there a way to keep him in one place?
