Any other behavior changes? My mind always goes to a medical problem first whenever there is a sudden behavior change.
Buns can also change personality a bit when they hit puberty… I think I remember your bun is pretty young? Baby bunnies are usually fine with being picked up, but once they hit puberty most bunnies do NOT like to be picked up.…[Read more]

Hello everyone, this is my first official post. I often read the forum for information or just entertainment, but never posted before.
I wanted to ask for advice, since I’m a bit desperate with the matter. I have a male mini lion lop which is 5 years old now, he is not neutered, he hasn’t had many major problems in the past except for maybe two…[Read more]

Are they both spayed? How old is Willow?
Bonding sessions should be done in a neutral space. They backyard is not likely a neutral space if they both have spent time in it before. If you look at the pinned posts in the bonding section there is a “bonding template”. If you paste it into your reply with the info filled in that would be very helpful. 🙂

@brit_onatuesday Alright thank you! I will definitely try what you have recommend. I’m sure Willow will warm up with time, her personality has always been a bit skeptical of everything and only recently has she been letting is approach her to pet her. Thanks again!

Hi! Is Louie fixed? Sometimes if they’re not neutered they can be “moody” at random times. What is he doing when you say “frisky”? It’s also possible that you’ve done something to upset him and he’s still resentful for it. Any changes in the household recently? I would suggest giving him time and space, as well as positive reinforcement. You can…[Read more]

Hi everyone, I’m moving soon (renting) and currently my buns have their own bedroom. I don’t plan on that changing wherever I go but I would like to find a new solution to protecting the carpet.
In my current place I just have a really low pile carpet that I got from home depot that I threw in their bedroom, and while it did work for…[Read more]

Don’t feel bad. She’ll be okay, she’s not looking malnourished or anything. I switched my guy to adult food around 6 or 7 months of age, but he’s just a little 3 pounder. New Zealands grow to about 5 kg, just keep an eye on her weight gain, once she stops growing you can switch her to adult food. 🙂
They only need one source of Alfalfa, if…[Read more]

Hi! It sounds like Willow is still skeptical around Clover. I say this because at times she’s relaxed (eating & laying down) and other times she’s kneeling low with her ears back, which is normally a sign of impending attack. In this case it sounds like Willow is just preparing for a possible attack from Clover, because she hasn’t decided herself…[Read more]

Hazel replied to the topic My three female rabbits are not getting along, what should I do? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
I would just keep all three separate, even the two that are getting along. Their hormones make them unpredictable, they can very well be fine for a while and then one day you come home to a blood bath. It’s not worth the risk in my opinion. I wouldn’t even do supervised visits before they have been spayed and recovered. If they’re loose in a room…[Read more]

Hi, so I have a bun and her name is Cotton. I have recently come to find out that scented wood shavings is not good for bunnies because it affects the enzymes in your liver. The shavings I purchase is from the pet store I got her from and I’m afraid it might be pine but it doesn’t state it on the packet. She is nine months and I have used it only…[Read more]

Today, I found out that Smokey is having a false pregnancy, and pulled out a LOT of her fur! She didn’t pull out any of OB’s fur, and OB was getting stressed, so now they’re all separated, Smokey with her nest. I’m thinking of letting them have visits with each other, under supervision of course. Today I’m going to find a vet who can spay them,…[Read more]

Okay so I’ve calmed my kahunas since my last message lol and phoned the vets. They’ve said it’s not a major issue that her foods have changed providing that she is actually wasting and drinking properly. But Its been recommended to put her back on young pellets and mix her Timothy with alfalfa. I have to monitor her weight over the next few weeks…[Read more]

HECK!!!! This is the LAST time I take advice from pets at home. Jesus F Christ. When I bought her, the lady told me to buy a bag of young pellets and once she’d finished those (at 6mobths of age) she’d be ready to go on to adult stuff. She’s been having adult food almost 2 months and Timothy hay!
I’m now learning on here that is totally and…[Read more]

So he didn’t initially do this when you moved into the room? It started a week or 2 later? Ir there was some marking right away and has just increased?
Is the layout of the room very different?
How is his vision? Have you noticed anything odd with him orientating himself in the new room?
The increased natural like is interesting. I definitely t…[Read more]

Exactly. It was probably a fortunate mistake for you in the end.
Apparently it’s the same with yesterday’s news. The cat one is cheaper but it’s the same product.

I currently share a bedroom with my freeroam 10 yr old neutered male lop bunny. Â Recently, we switched bedrooms within the same house. Â there is no history of other animals in the house, no new noises, and the only real difference between the rooms is that there is much more natural lighting, and that his litter box is a little further from his h…[Read more]
