I always use a helper, and use a method similar to what Wick described for Fable, or the holds demonstrated in that video, but with a helper doing the actual trimming.

There are lots of members who don’t want to deal with it and take their buns to the vets for trims, so that’s an option too if all else fails.

CC every half hour is a lot! I’ve always done every 3-4 hours? Just keep up the supportive care, I have a hunch she is through the worst of it. And keep offering her favorite greens. 🙂

I don’t think it’s something that should be forced very frequently, but there is utility and some well-being factors that come from feeling confident that when you do need to carry/hold your rabbit, he/she is somewhat tolerant of it and it’s not dangerous to either party.

So glad she got a trim! I hope things will get better now. 🙂  It might be worth keeping her on the pain meds for a couple of days to get her to start eating as soon as possible.

That sounds normal. The cloudiness is from the calcium they pass in the urine. The one can also look darker, especially after it’s been exposed to the air for a while.

Personally I’ve always felt that it’s not really worth putting my rabbits through all that stress to try to get them used to it (if you had one that isn’t horribly opposed to it to begin with it might be different). Some buns’ prefer to be held close to your heart for comfort, with the awareness that you’re there, maybe? Is your bun an energetic bunny? I hold my bunnies on my lap and pet them. Sometimes I put a pee pad down on a bed and lay down beside them, although, that doesn’t work when they’re in a hipper mood! 😀

I’m not sure about certain foods nor about lots of different rabbit urine colors, but orange urine seems normal, my rabbit’s urine is usually a darker yellow or orange.
