AWWW, what a cutie!! He definitely resembles a polish, but he is on the small side. He could be bred with a dwarf because he is pretty little, and Netherlands dwarfs and polish rabbits look pretty similar. He also has that classic shiny back polish coat.

I use wood stove pellets, they are the best for both price and odor control! You can buy them at most hardware stores or agricultural stores (Home Depot, Agway, Tractor supply) for ~$5 for 40lbs.

He used to eat a strict 1/4 cup of pellets, but since he isn’t don’t growing and is pretty lean, I upped it to somewhere in between 1/3 and 1/2 cup per day with extra pellets as rewards sometimes. My guess is it could be because of the extra pellets. How much did you up the amount by? Is everything else normal in terms of pooping and eating other things?

My memory is Louie is like 5-6 months? I think most people kind of tinker with the amount so they eat enough hay.

I use the Petco brand paper cat litter. It’s exactly the same as the one with a picture of a rabbit but pound for pound costs less. However! Watch paper litter because a lot contains baking soda so you need to be sure your bun isn’t interested in eating it. It could expand in their tum and cause stasis.

We have a lot of bunny proofing but my boyfriend got complacent and left out headphones where a rabbit was playing who had never chewed cords before. You know what to rule out which is important, so most others work, it mostly depends what your rabbit will prefer. I like carefresh paper based bedding because it is sofit on his feet and it is very absorbant, others prefer pellets, or shredded paper.
