My bunnies get very dark gross colored pee, especially if they’ve eaten carrots but I’ve never seen blue! If he’s otherwise acting, eating and drinking normally then he’s probably fine, but keep an eye on his poops and make sure he keeps making them.

I would take out the blanket as well. Some buns will pee on anything soft.

The fur buster comb is more gentle than the furminator for sure, but it is still a metal comb so you do have to be gentle with it.

And yes memory foam can be really good for sore hocks, as can faux shearling. The other thing that contributes to sore hocks are when the back nails get too long so the rabbit’s weight is unevenly distributed.

Ditto Bam, and you can also try offering some fresh grass. Since you suspect a medical issue, it is important to keep up the bulk in her diet, so it would be OK to offer extra greens and even give some critical care to make sure her gut stays moving. You can try offering the critical care on a plate or from a spoon. My dental bun looooved his…[Read more]

    Hello šŸ™‚

I was here a year ago – but now back with a new bunny. Finn unfortunately passed away since i was here last, and then I got Mylo.

I am currently in the process of bonding the 3 of them together which is a little hit and miss (thread in Bonding section).

I like using the hair buster for those days where Louie is going through a big moult, but it can pull on your buns skin just a tad bit to get that fur out, and sometimes when louie is feeling extra skittish, I just hand pull, he tolerates it more.

Yes, this would have been a really good time to bring a new animal home. It just wasn’t working for us, unfortunately. 😐

I have been looking at dogs too, but I doubt that is going to happen. LOL I really miss having a dog though. They are an excellent excuse to go for walks, etc.

    Just a wee update

We removed the flooring and he seems to be a happier bunny. Currently curled up on my belly enjoying the tv 😂 and chewing on my phone if I’m on it too long

Wick:Ā I just hand groom both my rabbits.

Wow! I might try that if I don’t find any brushes that work. Thanks, Wick. šŸ˜€

I looked up the Groom Zoom, and it looks like it’ll be a lot softer on her skin. Thanks, Dana. What about the HairBuster,Ā though? Is it softer to use then the FURminator?

Yes, I don’t use brushes or combs anymore. I just hand groom both my rabbits.

Louiethebunny replied to the topic ex pen size in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago

If you get two rabbits that are not bonded, you will want to get two xpens, which can be combined in the future. Each rabbit needs about 12 sq feet of space. The xpen I have is HERE. My bun is free-roam, the xpen is just his “home base” with his litter box and food and water. I have the 30-inch height, but my bun can escape by jumping on the hood…[Read more]

My bun loves to sleep on my bed too, and she has had a few accidents. Most of them washed out, but Wick’s right, if the pee is highly colored (like orange or even red) then it will stain. *hopefully it will be okay. šŸ™‚ And yes, it’s super cute when your bunny wakes you up for breakfast every morning!

It’s normal for a new bun to not be as energetic. After they get neutered and spayed, their real personality begins to shine through as well. Some rabbits aren’t as energetic, lop breeds are known for being mellow. Make sure he is just sleeping or laying down, sometimes they hunch their shoulders, or press their tummies to the ground, which are…[Read more]

Sounds like a good plan. The main thing you would need for your bunny to be comfortable is a place to get some privacy. Even the friendly-est of bunnies need some privacy. Since she is very friendly, I think two hours around people should be fine, but just make sure if she’s stressed or uncomfy you give her some space.
