I don’t think it will hurt them but I looked it up and it’s basically a diet food. Since they’re babies they need a bit of extra calories so I would at least increase the amount you are feeding them if you’re going to keep that, plus of course keep up with their hay and greens!

pinkiemarie replied to the topic Is my bunny underweight? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 3 months ago
Hard to tell from the pictures and rabbits can be a little hard to tell anyway. My vet is doing parking lot drop offs and you can’t even go in with the animals so it’s pretty safe. They would be able to confirm if he’s proper weight plus check his teeth and all that jazz since he’s new. I do think maybe he could use more pellets although if he has…[Read more]

Hi BM! Nice to hear from you 🙂
It sounds like you’ve already put your finger on what may be the problem, some “old bones” perhaps.
How is his weight?
The other thing is food as you know. Have there been any changes in formula? Any extra treats lately? Is he consuming adequate hay? My oldies seem to ear less pellets these data. I’ve always…[Read more]

I agree, a small amount probably wouldn’t do any harm. It sounds as if all is ok so far. Make sure she gets of food unlimited pellets) now so she produces adequate milk.
Here’s some more info going forward if you’ve not dealt with Mums & babies before.

Liv replied to the topic Litter training advice needed in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 3 months ago
Wow, ok maybe that is the reason because she mainly pees in the same spot. It is hard floor but I am definitely going to try cleaning it up with something different. I use a lot of vinegar when I clean it up and I also clean the litter boxes with vinegar so that may actually be the reason. I didn’t even think of that.
That is a great ideas put…[Read more]

Liv replied to the topic long road trip with rabbits in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 3 months ago
The only times my rabbits have ridden in the car is when I was bringing them home from adoption and when they went to the vet. The farthest they have driven is 40 minutes to get spayed and neutered. They both kind of just sat their frozen like you said. However I am hoping that they will get used to it since it will be a much longer distance. We…[Read more]

Hello all!
I’m so glad the boards are up and running again! I will pop in to the monthly thread to say hi soon, but for now I have a question.
My eldest bun, Caesar (8 y/o), has recently stopped eating his cecals. Or at least some of them. I have noticed some laying around his pen occasionally and more recently, mushed to his butt. Otherwise,…[Read more]

Right, of course. I actually didn’t know she was pregnant until about a week ago and it definitely was not intentional. Mainly I was just wondering if the soda was going to make her sick or end up really hurting the babies’ health. But, she had them last night and they seem to be doing just fine. Thanks anyway

I took a closer look at Hunny’s thinning ear. It’s her right one, there is still fur, but I can see the skin clear through it. There is one tiny raised flake of skin, no major dandruff or anything. No excessive scratching, grooming or head shaking.
Hunny was grinding her teeth a lot in pain (or a bizarre our? I can’t tell anymore) while I was in…[Read more]

I just checked on Hunny and noticed she did a bunch of poops outside the tube she likes to sleep in, while she normally uses her litter box. I’m not sure if this is waste or the cecotropes she’s tried to eat and been unable to chew.
Also worried because it looks like the fur is thinning a bit on one of Hunny’s ears. I just noticed this today…
