I do agree with the others. British vet Richard Sauders says rabbits dont really like the taste of cecals, but I dont know how he knows this. Anyway, it could explain why they leave them if he can’t reach them straight from the source, so to speak.

You said she gets a small bowl of pellets, how much is that exactly? They should get 1/4 to 1/2 of a cup per 6lbs of body weigh daily. She might just be filling up on pellets?

That’s great and must feel so rewarding! I envy people who have buns that flop by them. My Desmond James would do it a bit but the slightest movement from me would make him sit back up. My girls rarely flop. It’s the cutest thing!

I’m not sure if she’s young or older, she seems to be about average size so I’m guessing she’s full grown. When she went to the emergency they said she was 4.4 pounds. Yes, a possible dental problem is definitely worth exploring. If she isn’t used to eating hay though, it might be hard to get her to start. You don’t know what her background is. Wherever she came from, they could have been feeding her junk food. So she could be used to that.

What about hay toppers like dried herbs or willow leaves?

I agree with what’s already said. My bun is 6 mo and is pretty lean but eats a healthy diet and is still growing.

Was he kept in a wire cage? Wire flooring causes calluses and eventually sore hocks. It sounds like he just has irritated calluses right now, so you might be able to get away with clipped nails, softer flooring and ointment on the calluses. Nah, I’m sure she was just taking her frustrations out on the toy. 🙂  Two months old is a bit young to be hormonal. When she starts to mature, you may notice more behaviors that might be perceived as aggression.
