Bam replied to the topic 3 year old spayed bun pees on bed in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 3 months ago
This can just be an idea she got in her head. Rabbits often like peeing on soft things. A bed is attractive because it smells of the favorite human.
I had bun that got this idea when he had been neutered for 2 years. With him, it was the sofa. I blocked it off so he didnt have access to it. It was impractical, but after a couple of weeks he…[Read more]

pinkiemarie replied to the topic Is there a difference between does and bucks, when it comes to personality? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 3 months ago
My personal experience, which I doubt is universal, is that my 2 neutered males are pretty docile towards me and my spayed female is SASSY. Oh man she’ll throw things at me, grunt, head butt me to get me to do what she wants. Meanwhile my little boy just stands on his hind legs and looks adorable.
Honestly it really could just be Clover’s…[Read more]

pinkiemarie replied to the topic Having two rabbits: do they get less affectionate towards their owners? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 3 months ago
My rabbit definitely wanted less attention after he got married but he’s just so happy with his little husbun I don’t mind at all! Seriously they’re so cute together 😍 Rabbits will probably always be happier as a bonded pair as long as the rabbit is bondable.

pinkiemarie replied to the topic Which brand and type of pellets do YOU feed your buns? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 3 months ago
Mine have had oxbow essentials since they grew up and I’ve had no reason to change. It’s a good brand. Idk if it’s perfect, idk if garden select is better for them. They’re healthy weight with unlimited hay, salads twice a day and occasional treats (mint, sage, pansies, dandelions, lavender, carrot, banana, some other fruit or vegetable if we…[Read more]

I have the small pet store Rachel racks but also throw handfuls of hay directly into the box several times a day. They prefer to eat from the box anyways, then they potty on it so they need fresh 🙂

im sorry for the confusing title, not really sure how to phrase my question lol
I recently got a 8 week old nd, he’s the sweetest boy and I love him to bits but he can be so absent minded its amazing. Since I got him I tried to get him to drink water from a bowl, I had to hold up the bowl to his face for him to recognise that it’s filled with…[Read more] -

Hi Everyone!
My 3 year old female spayed rabbit, Fiona, has found a new interest in the top corner of my bed. In the past two weeks, she jumps up, rips the sheets, digs, and pees. Every time I notice she is up there I make her get down, and when I leave the room she just jumps right back up. I can deal with the ripped sheets- it’s not the end of…[Read more]

Thank you for the reply, I’ll have to look into that virus and do some research. I was holding off on a vet because it doesn’t seem serious, but I’ll keep a vet in mind if it develops into something I can’t control or treat.
It’s kind of above her heel? Not on it. It seems strange to me that a callous would be a bump like…[Read more]

Is it on her heel? Lots of rabbit have callouses on their heels, as long as they don’t get raw or infected it shouldn’t be an issue. With rabbits living on wire this often turns into sore hocks though, which will require treatment. Why do you have them on wire?

Bam replied to the topic Pee Wars! Help! in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 3 months ago
A soggy bottom can indicate incontinence or frequent urination due to a UTI. It should be cleaned up, because pee can cause urine scald. Constant wetness also compromises the skin’s barrier function.
You can give a butt bath, ie a bath where only the butt and hind legs get wet. It’s best done on the floor in a wash basin etc, filled to just 1-2…[Read more]

I’m not sure if my phone has anything to make it more water proof than older phones, but my guess is no, since I never even got a moisture warning. If it ends up dead I will make sure my next phone has at least some water protection (that iPhone 11 sounds pretty much indestructible 😀 ) We don’t have a contract so I’ll have to pay for the phone…[Read more]

The most common cause of lumps and bumps on rabbits are warts, caused by a papilloma virus, i think need to take them to hospital doctor suggest what you need to do.

I can’t remember which year they started waterproofing phones more. I thought it was before 2016 though. The charging ports were most vulnerable. If water got in there, it would short it out. This is why my husband’s phone wouldn’t charge even though the phone dried out for like a week. It was salt water though too. We were barely able to get…[Read more]

I’ve been trying to post on forums for some personal opinions on this, but I just can’t seem to get any…sigh.
So when I was grooming/trimming nails with my two pet rabbits yesterday, I noticed my 5/6 yo harlequin rabbit doe (spayed) has a small lump on the bottom of her right hind foot. It’s firm but not rock-hard. She does live on wire…[Read more]
