No they aren’t scuffling at all (not for years). It’s only chasing. Gussy absolutely doesn’t allow it and turns his back on her and stamps, and it becomes a challenge for her. He has been in my room allllll day (his choice and she’s not allowed in there atm) and she just gets so so excited to see him. She goes wild.

He is grooming her, but she…[Read more]

Don’t worry, you don’t sound rude. We know you’ve been put through the ringer with this ordeal!

Wow, I had to google myasthenia gravis, I have never heard of it. It seems to be very rare, but not unheard of. I hope you are able to get some answers soon.

He might be a bit scared, but he will be ok. It can help to have rabbits get used to their carrier ahead of time, so you can leave it out and open all the time, and give treats in it. That way they see it as a safe hiding spot and feel more comforted in it.

Since you are going tomorrow though, that’s something for the future. 🙂

    I usually fill…[Read more]

Thanks for filling out the template! 🙂

Whether you choose to go the quad route or the duo, you should wait until the new baby is spayed/neutered and hormones have settled before bonding. Babies do not form true bonds, but adults will tolerate babies. Especially since Queenie is annoyed with the baby, I would stop putting them together…[Read more]

Hazel: Can’t take credit for it unfortunately, but it makes me laugh every year 😛

Oh gosh and here in the UK I’ve seen approximately 3 days of sunshine, 28 degrees being the highest (I think that’s like 80ish degrees for you guys?)

Ahhh, that’s interesting about Ethel. Her medical history and special needs could definitely be contributing. Sometimes it’s hard to have a stable bond when one rabbit has medical issues. I think it might come from that bunny feeling “insecure” and needing to exert dominance because they are somewhat vulnerable. It does seem really odd that the…[Read more]

Adult Female “Queenie” has her own room but has “escaped” into some parts of the apartment. It is possible she may get territorial over any part of the apartment.

    Hi Mxng0q!

[edited by Mods to remove link]

I’ve heard that car rides actually relax rabbits,  the only precaution I would recommend is to keep the temperature in the car 75% Fahrenheit or below since that is the temperature rabbits prefer. Other than that, I hope you and your bun enjoy your car ride, and all goes well! 😀

I understand treating Hunny for E.C. as a precaution would not harm her, but I cannot go against my family’s wishes, which are to “trust the vets” and “not treat things for the sake of treating them.” Of the five or six vets Hunny has seen since this started, only one has observed a “very slight” head tilt. Even if the vets we see do not love…[Read more]

Treating her for EC wouldn’t do any harm even if she doesn’t have it. And as has been mentioned already, the test is notoriously unreliable. The vets (and certainly a specialist) should be aware of both of these facts, so I don’t know why they would refuse to treat her. Especially since they don’t really have any other answers.

    I know your family…[Read more]

    Thank you Bam and LouietheBunny!

They haven’t been eating much, and all of them have diarrhea. I was wondering if the diarrhea is bad, or if it’s because of the surgery, should I be worried about this?

Yesterday Silver was taking it the worst of them all, her coat was un-groomed, she was tired, and in so much pain. 😥 But today they all seem…[Read more]

The neurologist said nothing about E.C., and none of the other vets/specialists think it’s a good idea to treat Hunny for it, thus my family doesn’t, regardless of what I may think. It has been ruled out entirely. The condition the neurologist thinks Hunny may have is myasthenia gravis. He had us send him videos of Hunny eating so he could…[Read more]

I do get the feeling that somethings bunnies see chasing as sort of a game. Almost like they are teasing the other bunny. Like human siblings where one keeps pestering the other one to the point that the one being pestered goes into a rage and a chase ensues.

I agree, maybe the flop is like a “haha, you chased me and now I don’t care”.
