So annoying you had to go through that. I get requiring the blood test for an older bun or one with health risks especially, but for a younger I would think it was up to owner discretion. There is a possibility that lettuce is contaminated with rabbit poop, which is how these worms spread. It looks like its pinworms and they’re are not at all uncommon in rabbits, although they obviously mainly affect outdoors buns.  Fenbendazole (panacur) for a few days can be used to get rid of them.

I think with GI issues a lot of it is potentially diet related. Even if you’re feeding him a good standard rabbit diet, some buns just can’t handle it. My Bombur is one of them. What do you feed him? How much and how often? I’m not sure your bun fits the description, but have you looked into the condition megacolon?
