Hi guys!
So I was writing about problem with Bruce my 18 months old rabbit I can’t litter trained and now I neutered him and while he was on the medications the problem with pissing all over wasn’t that bad because he was usually pissing at similar hours so I was just trying to take him into the cage when was the time for him to do the bus…[Read more]

In my experience most bonds take 2 weeks minimum (and that’s after a settling in period and a couple weeks of pre-bonding). I’ve had several bonds take 3-4 months (!) and end with a very tightly bonded pair. So just keep at it and be patient. 🙂

Low voltage cords like mouse cords and phone cords are highly unlikely to hurt the bun if chewed. The only victims are the poor cords. Some you can fix yourself, you need a sharp knife and electric tape. It’s a bit annoying that you can’t readily buy protective cord covers for thin cords. I have made one for myself with plastic beads that you cut…[Read more]

His xpen door flings freely as it’s always hanging open, Louie is free to roam in the room, so I moved something heavy so it won’t move around, and I moved his litter box and hay toys around so he has less space to crash.

Thanks for your input! Technically they’ve been together 2 weeks. Long story but tried to have someone bond them and it didn’t go well (nothing bad with their interactions, he just didn’t really do anything and cut them too short then called them a bad match :/). They were there a few days before coming home. Too many websites make it sound like a…[Read more]

I wonder if you could put something to cover the spot he hits so he can see it? Like a grass mat or a towel or something?
Bun Jovi can’t see very well so I have to make sure the entry to his condo is wide open or he will crash into the door.

Louiethebunny replied to the topic unsafe zoomies? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 3 months ago
yeah, I’ve moved everything I can out of the way so the main center of the room is clear for zoomies, but it seems part of his zoomie circuit is running back into his xpen and when he does that he sometimes runs into the bars. He never seems fazed by this and continues running around, I just find it strange he lets himself come into contact with…[Read more]

After only 4 sessions I would not worry at all. Most “easy” bonds take a couple of weeks minimum, so just be patient.
Sounds like you have a good plan. 🙂
I would work up to 6-8 hour sessions, and then potentially go for an overnight once they can be together 8 hours without scuffling.

That’s true, mostly because the dynamics are different with every group size, but isn’t a guarantee.

You’re welcome!
I felt weird about the collagen ingredients too as I’m also vegetarian…. but I know that most collagen products are made from by-products that are normally discarded. But it does feel yuck to be feeding something like that to an herbivore. So yeah, I was conflicted as well.
So the “scoop” they include is TINY. So 1.5 scoops of…[Read more]

It is important that the zoomie area is safe. Similar to a hyper kid running around, you want to treat it the same way. One of my rabbits zoomies around the same circuit daily so I need to make sure it’s a clear path and the walls she runs into dont present tangle or trapping risks.

Beau Bunny replied to the topic Neutering: what is the magic number? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 3 months ago
Ughhh, unfortunately, the shelter clinic here doesn’t see rabbits as they don’t adopt them out. We have ORCA here and of course they spay/neuter all their adoptable bunnies and include it in the cost. 90 bucks was looking great right about now, lol.
@Dana, I asked that! They said they can’t do it without the initially exam, records or not. But…[Read more]

I heard sometimes a new rabbit can change the hierarchy with older ones so thought that might make the quad possible. The baby is so small being a dwarf as well and my biggest male’s head is about the same size. (I have bonded a small lop with a BIG rabbit with no issues)
For now I have been keeping the baby seperate and giving it attention by…

Thank you so much, DanaNM!! That’s so great about Bun Jovi the wild man, haha. And I’m so glad he pulled through last year!! What a relief.
Thank you so much for the tip about Myristrol. I’ll have to think it over because of the cow, pig, and shellfish ingredients, as I’m personally on the extreme end of the vegetarian spectrum (i.e., I can…[Read more]

Yes, it seems good but of course I worry they won’t bond 🙂
It does seem they are on the way to grooming since there have been some weird nibble attempts. I did already change time of day, and you’re right it did change things a little. During the day Elmer didn’t nip at all and it was more just laying close and grooming themselves. At night,…[Read more]

It sounds like they are doing very well so far. 🙂
As far as how long they have left, hard to say! You want to wait until you see grooming and no tense-ness or fur pulling. Since they are doing well you could start increasing the length of the sessions. You might also try different times of day. Some bunnies will get along great all day, then…[Read more]

It is normal for a young bunny, but it isn’t totally safe. Try to make sure there aren’t stuff he can get a leg stuck in, for example. Zooming adds to quality of life, so not allowing him to zoom would be sad.
