Most people really really would not recommend this approach for a few reasons. Like you already know, babies don’t form true bonds, and it is really heartbreaking to surrender a baby when the bond just doesn’t work, which it often doesnt.

Agree with Wick, sometimes even a brand new box can cause disputes as one might try to “claim” it. I tend to add them pretty late into marathoning, like after they’ve been getting along for 24 hours or so. If they can all share the box happily, that’s one of my metrics for success. 🙂

I’m guessing it was the smell of the dog too. For now it’s best to leave her alone, try to remove anything that smells like the dog from her area, and let her calm down.

It could still be the scent of the dog, if you didn’t shower or completely cleanse yourself of the scent, it could be the smell of the predator.

It sounds like something isn’t right in the cecum, as Dana explained. This could be surgery-related, diet-related, or a combination of both. Some bunnies just can’t handle certain foods. Perhaps the surgery pushed him over the edge so to speak?

Hormone levels will fluctuate for several weeks following a neuter. We call this the post-neuter craze. This period can last 4 weeks or more. I agree with A&B, give it some time. Let his hormones settle. If you need to go back to litter training 101 after that, that’s OK.
