Thanks for the reply, Wick & Fable.
I’m leaning toward semen as upon further recollection, it shot out in a few spurts a short distance onto the blanket. This makes me wonder if bunnies have wet dreams.
Also, I’m posting the link below for pos…[Read more]

Fingers very much crossed that Fluffernutter gets through this!
Interesting that there seems to be a seasonal variation!
I too think LLT probably has been (and still is) under-diagnosed and written off as “GI stasis”
Diagnostic methods for rabbits have become a lot better in later years. When I first had rabbits most vets couldnt do a full…[Read more]

I saw the thread by Benjamín. Fluffernutter was not doing well, he never has G.I stasis. I gave him some gi stasis meds, did not show signs of improvement in about an 1 /12 called the vet to see if they had any appointments. They did an x-ray and blood work; x-ray showed what looked to be a torsion and liver values were very very high.

Since BB does not allow posting about intentional breeding, many users are not familiar with what rabbit ejaculate looks like… Including me.
I’d say continue to monitor and if everything else health wise and behavior wise are normal, I wouldn’t be overly concerned. If it happens again, I’d call a rabbit savvy vet who may have insight. Any…[Read more]

hi my Mini Rex bunny is 1 year, 3 months old, not neutered. I’ve never seen him hump or ejaculate before. In fact she doesn’t display any territorial behaviors aside from peeing in front of his litter box sometimes.
He was flopped over and I was petting him. It looked like he was mostly asleep. Then all of a sudden he sat up and went into the pos…[Read more]

My bunny has been licking me and I thought it was his lack of salt and minerals but I bought him a salt and mineral wheel and he refuses to even sniff them does anyone know what he needs?
And on a different note, he is chewing his rubber bowls I know he’s not supposed to be doing that it’s bad for him to eat except it appears that he’s not actua…[Read more]

Oh, wonderful that her balance has improved!
Supplemental syringe feeding is good so you know she gets the right nutrients. You can make the mix extra sloppy so you know she’s well hydrated.

It’s good that you can call them if you need to! You should, if she really stops eating and pooping. It is still somewhat “early days” on the Panacur though. Have you seen any improvement so far regarding her balance?

Ginger&Seal replied to the topic Too much panacur? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years, 5 months ago
No i am not, i could call though they are super nice but i wouldn’t know what to ask. I still haven’t given her the metacam.

So glad she’s started to poop!
But yes, rabbits can have “relapses” while on Panacur. It is a very slow-acting drug. Some buns need 5 weeks of treatment, or even more. Some buns, albeit few, get side effects from the Panacur. Panacur is slso often combined with meloxicam for the anti-inflammatory properties of meloxicam. Are you in any kind of…[Read more]

okay she started pooping, but her appetite is still not there yet like it has Been. This was the symptoms she was having before i took her to the vet. Is this normal for a bunny on panacur for ec? I know i have 2 weeks ish left of her medication but is it common for them to start feeling bad after they have been doing so well?
