Oh no the carrot tops! 😕
Is it just the US where the VHD2 vaccine needs to be imported and such and also why is it not easily/readily available?

ThorBunny I love Thor for her! makes her seem like a real badass and it suits her dark colouring as well 🙂
LBJ – I compleeetely forgot about the split option, I definitely think it’s the most viable one.
Tyb had his post op check up yesterday and the vet said he looks absolutely perfect yay 🙂 he certainly has been acting like he didn’t have…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic How to teach bunny not to pee on hay in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 2 months ago
You can clean her paws with baby wipes, preferably unscented. To prevent her paws from getting soaked, I think the best thing would be to put more litter in the box. If she’s the type of bun who digs away the litter before she pees, a litterbox with a screen would be good. You still put litter on top of the screen, but most of the pee drains…[Read more]

Hi everyone,
I’m just looking for some advice as to whether or not I should attempt to bond my rabbits or just give up and let them live alone. (This is going to be a very long post sorry!). Question answers are at the top and background info is below.
Spay/Neuter
Are your bunnies spayed/neutered? YesIf so, for how long (for each)? Since…[Read more]

It does look like she’s blowing her coat. The important thing to check when there’s fur loss is how the skin looks underneath. It should be smooth, soft and even.
If her skin looks and feels fine, this is very likey just a molt. Some buns shed in patches, and they look pretty awful while it’s going on. The guard hair and the wool have different…[Read more]

Our current litter box set up is a cat sized litter box with a hay feeder on one side, and we line the box with a pee pad and paper based litter. Our bunny has been really good with using the litter box and hay feeder, but she has been starting to smell like pee, especially her front paws. We looked at the litter box and found one pee spot in the…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Can I treat EC without a vet? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 2 months ago
Uveitis is a common manifestation of EC in younger rabbits. But uveitis can also be caused by an injury and/or bacterial infection.
Since Bernard hasn’t exhibited any other symptoms, I’m going to guess that the vet decided to “let sleeping dogs lie”. Perhaps because of the pandemic? If the eye is stable, they may not have felt it was an…[Read more]

That makes sense, it’s probably better to just get it from a vet. I’m not sure if it has changed, she’s sleeping now so I’ll check in the morning. The vet didn’t really rule anything out. She just said it’s possibly EC but I’ll have to come back later for her to look at. She was pretty vague about it. Could an injury cause it? A couple months…[Read more]

The thought of them *actually* pouting makes me laugh. 😄
Poor Joey, I’m sure she’ll come around though.
Sonn, I’ve forgotten.. but did you name her Joey because……. Pacey???! I feel really dumb for only just making this connection. Lol

Oops. Sorry about the carrot tops Dana. They must have plotted that together.
Could you try buying carrots with tops on, use most the greens but plant the top of carrot with some still intact. I know you can do it with just the top of the carrot but my thinking is if some greens still there, it might encourage the growth of more faster. Full…[Read more]

Just wanted to ask; had the spot or area in her eye changed at all? A white spot in the eye can also be caused by a fat or calcium deposit. And I assume the vet ruled out injury?

Since the vet mentioned it previously and they have Bernard weight on file, could you ring and ask them to decant some panacur for you to pick up?
It is a wormer used for a lot of animals and available in different forms (liquid, paste, granules) & strengths. I expect the feed store would have larger bottles intended for farm animals. That’s w…[Read more]

I know someone who has had a rabbit die from a heart attack, from a cat. So I would personally not try to bond them, but others have had different experiences with bonding them, so it all really depends (as stated above) on their personality.

Louiethebunny replied to the topic Bonding cat with bunnies in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 2 months ago
My mother had a rabbit and a cat many years ago and they got along well, the rabbit usually chased after the cat, so depending on the personalities of each animal, you might have to make some small adjustments. Some rabbits love chasing the cat, so if the cat is tolerant of it, it usually works out well.

Is she young? Sometimes when baby rabbits molt and start growing in their “adult” coats, they have new colorations. It could also be staining from sitting in the litter box, it happens. She could also have urine staining her fur.

Hi, I recently found out my Bernard might have EC. The vet based it on her having a white thing in her eye. But Bernard has already been to the vet twice within a month and she just got spayed. I don’t want to keep stressing her out. I was following another thread where another bunny was suspected of having EC and someone mentioned they could b…[Read more]

That’s some expert-level pouting!
Bun Jovi expresses his dissatisfaction with me after nail trims with lots of thumping and begrudging treat-acceptance.

Also just wanted to throw in that it’s lucky they were both mis-sexed! It would have been quite the surprise if you were right about one being male and not the other! 😯
I also love the names Alan and Steve X-D

Growing things inside doesn’t work too well for us either… we have a small herb garden outside our front door of several high pots with herbs for cooking and for Louie.
