I got some good news about Bubbles. As some of you might know, he has Insulinoma (cancer of the pancreas) and is taking Prednisolone to combat the high Insulin levels caused by the tumors. Recently I noticed that he’s starting to show some fluid retention which is a common side effect of the medication. So I decided to try and dial down the dose.…[Read more]

Rumball, one of my bridge buns, was good with the flops. There’s something about Lops and flops…
Here’s some old photos of him passed out.

Well to be fair, our other cat never showed any interest in hijacking Oscar’s litter box so I guess it depends on the cat. Mosby’s way too big for it, I think he does it just because he knows he’s not supposed to 🙄

I’m having the same problem. It is hard to pinpoint what’s is affecting my boy. I got him at 3.5 months he took a while to train and there was a lot of cleaning up after him until he suddenly stopped peeing everywhere, it was amazing. After a few months he peed on my bed again so I looked at getting him neutered. I was in the process of shifting…[Read more]

Leasch replied to the topic How to teach bunny not to pee on hay in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 2 months ago
Hi there,
I have thought the same but I think it’s best to let my rabbit do it how he wants since it’s good space.
I have a very large twine chest with an entry hope cut out for his litterbox. I also have a fabric hay dispenser tied inside.
I find the best litter so far has been newspaper and a decent amount of hay on top. When his feet get wet…[Read more]

Thanks Hazel and Louiethebunny
I really appreciate your advice on this.
My rabbit has just had his operation and it went very well. I did ask the vet about your query Hazel before going ahead and we decided it is the right time to do it now before things become habits.
He’s still his lovely self but am still having trouble lottery raining him…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Spayed female hormonal spraying in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 2 months ago
This is definitely something most people associate with older neutered (male) rabbits. However, it has been documented in spayed females as well. Treatment would depend on the cause. There could be a tumor or simply an enlargement of the adrenal gland (adrenal disease). For a tumor, there is radiation or steroid therapy. For an enlarged adrenal…[Read more]

@SophT – I usually go to my profile, add the photo there. And then come back to the post and select Add Media. It goes through moderation but it lets me do it. I can be more specific with steps if you need. Just say :). & that is a sweet bun in your profile pic!

@Louiethebunny – I wonder what they are thinking when they try and climb the walls? It’s so weird to me. Is it a normal bunny thing I wonder?
@Hazel – if I get a kitty again I’ll have to remember that! Though may check it out just anyway since it looks like it would make cleaning a little easier.

I think that might be it. He’s the first bunny I’ve had in 7 years and molting completely slipped my mind! Thank you so much!

Oh thank you so much for answering. I gladly will show my mother some foods she can give to my bunny!

I expect he will be just fine. While walnuts and other nuts are not good to regularly feed rabbits due to the fat content, they’re not toxic. So half a walnut will not cause harm.
Perhaps you can show your Mom some other foods she can give when your rabbit begs. Some fresh herbs or other healthy treats you might have. 😉

My mother came over to visit today, and my Rabbit Marshmallow was giving my mom a cute look (Described by my mom), so when I went to check on her and the Bunny, I saw something that looked like a nut. She said she gave him a half of one walnut. I’m sorry if my grammar is bad but I am urgent because I know that walnuts are potentially harmful to…[Read more]

Yes, I’ve been giving her Alfalfa based pellets but she doesn’t even bother eating them. Should I switch to alfalfa hay because she only seems interested in eating hay?
