There is truly no minimizing the pain coming from losing a loved bun….
Regardless of activity level, BB always welcomes people willing to share, help others learn, and ask questions themselves. Recreational fun posts also liven things up too 🙂
It’s wonderful seeing your post. Time moves both fast and slow. I’m thankful things have been going…[Read more]

It really sounds that you’re making great progress! I hope it continues, I think it will 🤞🐰
I always read aloud to new buns. Just sit somewhere where they can hear me, I concentrate on the book, the bun just gets used to my presence and my voice.

I’m happy to report, 1.5 months in, she’s finally been spotted outside her townhouse during non-pellet time. Ok, maybe it’s partially the summer heat and she can only loaf in townhouse; must come out to lay down. She finally letting me pet her pre and post pellet eating without flinching.
Thank for the tip about playing music. Foster Bun’s…[Read more]

Hey!
Its good to see you! I’m glad you decided to say hello. 🙂
I ended up taking a long hiatus from the forums due to a bunch of dumb stuff happening in my life, but I missed everyone a bunch! So, I’ve been trying to be more active here lately. 🙂 Its awesome to see some old faces and its still the best place for bunny advice, in my opinion.…[Read more]

One of my buns is attracted to leather and pleather and will nose and move things to get to it. I wonder if there’s a smell that even covering and blocking didn’t really help Luckily for me, I only have small items so I relocated them to cabinets.

Hi BunnyLass! I know what you mean. It can be hard after you lose your bunny and then there is a whole bunny forum where you are used to talking to others about bunnies. But it’s very nice to see you all the same. 🙂 The forum has been a bit slow lately, but I encourage you to stick around. Even without a bunny currently in your life, that…[Read more]

I didn’t know if I should come back here since Blossom and Thumper’s passing and was seriously considering of deleting my account but something always stopped me and I’m glad that it did. I’m so sorry I haven’t been active but it was (and still is) really hard. I’m not looking for compliments or sympathy and if it comes off that way I am really…[Read more]

It could be many factors at play, but typically once a rabbit realizes they can just pee on a couch…. they’ll keep doing it. It’s like the seal is popped, haha.
I wouldn’t read too much human emotion into the why, just be grateful it took until now for it to happen. Most rabbits get to peeing on couches immediately. They smell a lot like human,…[Read more]

It’s tough to cover things they want to chew since rabbits are very drawn to things with “give”, so unless the cover is super tight, it might actually exacerbate the behavior!
Maybe try offering something more appealing on the couch (though I understand you don’t want random junk on your couch…). Plain cardboard cat scratchers are pretty well…[Read more]

Did the blanket smell strongly of you? Bunnies like to pee on soft things, particularly soft things that smell strongly of people.

I like the idea of a fitted slip cover. And if it gets chewed, it’s just a slip cover.

He is free roam during play time , but I have a huge cage with his door open 24/7 and I have a large dog pen attached to the cage with a door that is shut. That way he can still run around and have lots of room if I can’t supervise him. And that way he can’t get into trouble

Haha, they always seem to know when they’re in trouble! Mine always give me the “What? I’m not doing anything!” face (usually as they are sitting right next to the evidence lol). Or, our girl bun Georgia will do binkies when she gets scolded for digging in the cat boxes and we shoo her out lol.🙄
The blankets or a slipcover were my first thought,…[Read more]

My bunny has never done this before in the 2 years we have had him. He is 100% litter boxed trained and not once has peed or pooped anywhere in my house she I free roam him. He has been out before for 3 hours and goes right to his pen where is litter box is when he has to go.
today he was laying next to me on a blanket on my couch and he peed. I…[Read more]
