I don’t have personal experience with all these woods, but https://bunnylady.com/safe-wood-for-rabbits/ here is a list (from what I can see is pretty reliable and presented competently) of rabbit-safe woods. If you cannot find a specific description of a toy on the online website, I would either try to find that toy somewhere else or overlook…[Read more]

Thank you! I was looking for apple sticks and willow stick toys but couldn’t find any in stores. I’m nervous to use tp rolls because of the glue used on them. Most people say that they’re safe but it’s still glue. I’ll try to find more Oxbow toys! 🙂 I wonder if I could make some toys made of just timothy hay. I just saw online that Oxbow has hay mats.

I’m sure its absolutely nothing to worry about! Whether it stays white or the color comes back in. Humans can get white hairs on a patch of their scalp after a local injury, but it isn’t problematic in any other way than at the most cosmetically.

I don’t really clean out Louie’s water bowl, I just rinse out all the fur and hay he’s gotten in his bowl when I refill it.

Most toys are safe, but there are some brands that may not be as good as others. I like to buy Oxbow toys because they are a pretty reputable brand, and I also make some out of toilet paper rolls and cardboard. Things that are definitely safe are “apple wood sticks” and toys made out of willow.

Just caught up on extra details now. I hope it was just the boxes and this is all sorted. That would be the easiest cure ever.
Her back leg issue does sound suspiciously like EC though, so I’d definitely keep that in mind if you see recurrence of either issue.

I know I’m a little late and I don’t think you’re supposed to comment on older posts? Idk but this is on the front page of this forum. I have an idea of putting a plastic shower curtain or tarp on the inside of each side of the cage, tucking in the bottom to stick out of the outside of the bottom of the x-pen. So the walls are all plastic and n…[Read more]

I just wrote a reply to you in Lounge about Dawn. I hadn’t realised you had a new topic about the seizures.
Just going to cut’n’paste it here. Sorry if it repeats too much on what others have already suggested.
From Lounge:
“I’m sorry Dawn is experiencing seizures. It’s unpleasant to see. Because it’s happening at certain time, I do wonder if…[Read more]

Hello everyone! I was at a couple pet stores and other stores that sell pet items yesterday. I tried to find toys that are safe for bunnies. The willow stick toys were sold out. I looked at other things but most of the toys I looked at had no indication or list of what they’re made of. I only bought the Oxbow Timothy Twists because it says 100% T…[Read more]

I’m not sure, the people above me have better ideas. But in the photo the little mark looks like a sideways heart which is cute, but I hope it’s not anything to worry about!

If he is not inclined to listen to even after persistent shoo’ing when he does it (hit or miss if rabbits actually learn boundaries without physical barriers), you may need to re-arrange in order to make it work. That is a part of having a free-roam rabbit many times.
As someone mentioned, you could also make the desk less enticing of a spot if…[Read more]

It may also be a coincidence that it happens to be where the IV had been? One of my rabbits has a white stripe across his left shoulder blade. As he grew, the solid stripe became longer and also ended up “breaking apart”, i.e. black fur started growing within the stripe and making it less solid. Perhaps she was always meant to have that grow in as…[Read more]

If you rinse them out well daily, the idea is there isn’t a chance to get mold or mildew accumulation, which would require a more intentional scrubbing with a sponge or something. You can usually very easily see/feel if it needs a better wash beyond that (i.e. quick hand wash with dish soap and sponge or a dishwasher). There’s not too much of a…[Read more]

Maybe the hairs in that spot turned white due to some local damage to the skin and the hair follicles from the IV.

Has anyone tried the hay from the binkybunny store? I was looking at this one
https://store.binkybunny.com/mobile/mini-hay-bale—1st-cut-timothy-p10.aspx
All the reviews were great but because Bernard is so picky, maybe the fresh hay from a feed store is better? Or is the hay here fresh too?

Interesting! I have not noticed any darker fur, but maybe it’s the same thing? Crazy!
Here’s a link to a picture:
Hopefully I did the link correctly.
