Breakie replied to the topic Bonding preneuter/timing dilema in the forum BONDING 6 years, 2 months ago
Thank you so much, everyone. I am taking your good advice to heart and am going to wait. It seems the risk is too high that hormones will get everything off on the wrong foot and/or that any bonding work will be for naught once the second bun gets neutered.
I wanted them bonded before I go because I can get help here from an experienced r…[Read more]

@DanaNM Thank you! It says 100% pine so it should be fine. 🙂

I picked up some Orchard hay and she’s been snacking on it all day, I’m so glad she’s finally eating hay 🙂 I’ll have to try the oat hay here too

@DanaNM Oh no 😧 I know what you mean. I used to have one when I had guinea pigs a long time ago. I probably won’t be buying that again then. I should probably try googling stuff more but I wish they would just list the materials on the packaging…

Gosh, I’ve gotten carried away these past several days and haven’t been checking the forum.
Dana- Thanks! I’ve seen those posts before but I’ve completely forgotten about it.
Hazel- Yeah. I might have found a source of hay but I’m still waiting for the seller to get back to me. If it doesn’t work out I’ll check out some of the feed stores n…[Read more]

I tend to buy most toys online, so I end up just reading the reviews to make sure no one had any problems with it. And when i’m buying stuff in person I end up googling on my phone…. haha.
Some toys are OK to give if supervised but prob best not to give unsupervised. For example there are these wire balls that you can use to stuff hay or…[Read more]

I think either of those options sound fine. 🙂 Could alternate what you try maybe?

It might not be the most attractive set up, but I wonder if you could make a cube grid barrier between the crate top and the desk to block access? Mine won’t really hope over just 1 grid, so that could work. You could scooch the blanket over and then attach them to the top of the crate.
LOL cube grids seem to be my solution to all bunny-proofing…[Read more]

My bunnies love the oat hay from the BB store. 🙂 So I would imagine the timothy is also great (there are probably some reviews for it too). You might try getting timothy and one other variety to see if she likes another type better.

That looks fine to me, it’s a bit hard to see the photo but as long as it’s pine pellets with no additives you should be good to go.
And storing in the garage is totally fine as long as it’s kept dry and not exposed to any weird chemicals that also might be stored in the garage (such as pesticides).

LBJ10 replied to the topic Spring Mix in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 2 months ago
Spring mix is perfectly safe. Some bunnies prefer it because the “baby” greens are less bitter. Bell peppers, parsley and blue berries are safe to give. Just remember parsley is on the list for containing high amounts of oxalic acid.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Are these nail clippers good for 🐰? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 2 months ago
I always use the scissor-style ones. They are easier to put over the nail and are easier to control. Plus you can easily let go if bunny suddenly tries to struggle. With the style you pictured, you have to thread the nail through a hole. If they struggle, then the nail isn’t easily released.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Feeding bunnies yogurt??? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 2 months ago
The old way of thinking (which included many vets) was that a little bit of plain yogurt could help with GI issues because they contain probiotics. The problem with yogurt, however, is that dairy products are not easily digested by rabbits. And, as the others pointed out, yogurt contains sugars which aren’t good for bunnies in excess. There are…[Read more]
