I can’t say for sure, but personally I have never gone for the marathon when buns are trying to fight badly. I tend to save it till the end, when I know they are close but just need more time. I know it can work for some, but to me it just seems way too stressful for everyone. I certainly wouldn’t want to go for it with Ziggy at this time. It…[Read more]

Sounds like he’s growing up! He’s probably pooping on your bed because he wants to claim it, and that’s typical territorial behavior. After he is old enough, you may want to get him fixed, it really can help with hormonal behaviors and such. As for the exploring, you might just have to bunny proof more.

Sounds like it’s going well. 🙂 For now I would try to minimize the other bunny smells since they are still cementing their relationship. So you might want to change pants etc. before visiting them. After their bond is cemented, I would very slowly introduce them to the other bunnies’ smells. You might even need to block their view of the other…[Read more]

LOL it was only recommended when I was fostering a bun that was having some pretty severe issues with his gut flora balance. And only because that bun already lived in the same household. The vet assumed that the bun would already have been exposed to any potential parasites, so there wasn’t a risk of making the bun sicker by doing it. He ended up…[Read more]

My bunny miso is pretty young still but he has suddenly been developing naughty behavior and I’m not sure what to do or how to approach it. He recently learned how to climb like a lot of things to get to a higher surface and even learned how to jump on my bed with ease now! But I don’t want him on my bed too much because he poops on it (he only…[Read more]

I find that odd that the antibiotics for the respiratory infection did not cure it. My rabbit OB had a respiratory infection just a few months ago and the medicine they gave cleared it up pretty quickly. All of the things you described sounded like one. Has he been looking up? If he starts looking up then definitally take him to the…[Read more]

Fingers crossed she’s soon back to her normal activity level! It does sound very promising that she’s hopping around more!
Buns often gets sick quickly, in many cases because they do their utmost to hide any sign of illness until they nolonger can. Thats typical for prey animals, any sign of weakness and you risk being singled out by a predator.…[Read more]

kendall started the topic Many little mats!!! in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 1 month ago
I have a french lop with satin fur with a bunch of mats on her behind. I have a hair buster comb, but it’s really harsh when I was trying to get rid of the mats and just made the skin irritated. Is there a different product that I can try? They are too small to cut out and they aren’t pulling at her skin, but I don’t want them to get worse. They…[Read more]

At about 9 hours last night Calliope was grooming Theo for a couple minutes. I think part of it had to do with the banana still stuck on his head and because she didn’t know I was looking but either way it’s progress
They have been together 24 hours with no problems!!! but last night something came up. I spent time with my other bunnies and Gwen…[Read more]

Wilbur seems to breath really loud, I attached a video (hopefully you can see it). Does this seem loud or is it normal? I took him to the vet about 2 months ago and they thought it was an upper respiratory infection. They gave him antibiotics and those didn’t help at all. He still has a runny nose, loud breathing (in my opinion), and p…[Read more]

She’s doing much better, even hopping around by herself, started jumping on chairs and bed once again! And less of that sound today. And poops are pretty good too, already.
I haven’t thought that it might take so much time for an improvement. Was delusional, I guess, thought, if a bunny gets sick fast, it gets healthy fast too. After her dia…[Read more]

My boy loves orchard grass it also smells nice It was difficult to make him eats hay. It hasn’t been long that he has consistently eaten hay and now I want to introduce him new hays. I will probably go with oat hay since there has been many reviews that buns love it alot.

Bladesmith replied to the topic Rabbit Seizures in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 1 month ago
@Wick I thought of that as well, but Loki eats the same hay as Dawn, without problem. I also bought a new bag, and got rid of the old. She still had a seizure, so I dunno.
I’m stumped. But her quality of life remains high, the spoiled little minx, and she’s well cared for. Best I can do.
