How wonderful! They do of course communicate via scents, to an extent that we dont really have the capacity to understand with our, comparatively blunt sense of smell. It’s so interesting!

Something very stressful just happened. I have 2 young rabbits. Eevee, who was spayed about 2 weeks ago, and Finn, who has just reached the age to be neutered, which he will be very soon. Finn is a month younger than Eevee and he lives in a pen in my room where Eevee has free range of the room.
Eevee and Finn are pretty comfortable with each…[Read more]

I think I would go back to neutral for the actual bonding sessions. You don’t want that negative dynamic to get entrenched. But if OB and Silver are OK together, I think it would be OK to let them roam together as long as they are supervised.

I just noticed she tried to urinate but nothing came out. She just pooped but I can hear her stomach gurgling still. It’s late here and I’m really worried. Should I wait until morning to see if she urinates or take her to the vet now?

Aww he’s an ity bitty fella lol.
He’s like my dad then haha. Leave out some food and it slowly disappears 😆
Gosh that’s funny. It’s hilarious how picky they are about the thing that keeps them alive. Like kids and veggies lol. Whether it’s the pellets or the hay brand glad he’s eating more now though.
Also to @ someone jus…[Read more]

He is a holland lop and weighs about 2.7 ish lbs however this weight was from december maybe when we went to the vet for nail trims. You can’t see his ribs or bone but you can feel them so I always worry about him being maybe underweight. I also give him a small pinch of oats every couple of days. I came to realize he is more of a grazer. Even…[Read more]

Interesting. Just out of curiosity, how big is Bentley?
Hmm. I think I might use the timothy/alfalfa mainly because one of the main reasons I intend to feed pellets is kind of as a warning sign for anything going wrong (not finishing all the pellets when normally they do) and to make sure they get all the vitamins and minerals they…[Read more] -

If he can fit his head through bars, then you will need to reinforce it with some smaller grids so he doesn’t hurt himself. You could use smaller mesh hardware cloth or NIC cube grids.
Some bunnies just hate barriers! Even when they have lots of space. Hanging up a towel on the side he’s obsessed with might help too.
Once things are…[Read more]

Bentley is not the best hay eater so I thought the timothy formula might be better for him. The only major thing I noticed is that he is not excited for the pellets. when I was on the Timothy/alfalfa, he would be so excited when it was pellet time but now he could care less. I give him one tablespoon in the morning and 1 at night but sometimes it…[Read more]

I’m glad to hear Ralph is doing well. 🙂 <3
Also please don’t feel guilty at all for Morgan. Often when it is a bun’s time to go, it presents like something else. So we try all the normal things, and then they just crash. It is obvious you took great care of him and did everything you could with the information you had.
To address an above…[Read more]

Agree with @dove it could be that his cage is too small. Have you considered and x-pen? It is making a pen that is bigger than the standard “pet store cages” and allows your bun more room to move around. If you google ‘rabbit x-pen’ there are some examples of what they look like. Then you could drape a lite towel – I don’t like heavy ones – on the…[Read more]

Okay thanks! Just curious- was there a specific reason why you switched to the timothy formula, or did you just want to try it out? Do you prefer the Timothy or the alfalfa one?
I just checked out the page and I find it odd. I wonder how far into the bag they were?
Have you been having any problems with it? -

It really seems like you’ve covered almost all the bases I can think of, so I agree that she is prob still sore from the dental filing and recovering from the anesthesia, some buns have a harder time afterward than others. Hopefully she will perk up after a bit more time!

How big is his “cage”? Is it an actual cage? Like, pet store cage?
