I don’t think that Benji would fight, but Peter could hurt him. As I said, this happened with my ladies, Silver, the dominant one, was nipping the others, and I made that same excuse ‘well, other than that, they’re fine..’ then one day they had foughten, and OB, the timid one, still has a scar on her ear. I don’t think that OB attacked, I think it…[Read more]

lopbunnymom started the topic Chronic UTI issues in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
I have a fixed year and half old male mini lop and he is bonded two fixed 2 year old holland lop sisters. I adopted him about a year ago. Not long after getting him, his UTI issues started. Constantly peeing outside of the box which had a horrible smell. At one point he even got urine scald. He has blood work done, urine analysis and 2 sets of…[Read more]

Well, it was over a year ago I heard the scream. Benji will never fight, though. Their old owner said she kept Peter and Benji with another male, whom Peter was always fighting with, while Benji just cowered in the corner. That’s also probably why Benji was so skinny when I got him. Peter and Benji also LOVE to cuddle with each other, though.

I don’t know why Peter chases Benji, but I would highly recommend separating them. A scream is not something you hear in a happy bun relationship. 🙁 I don’t know what could have caused it though, with the way things are going, it sounds as though they could potentially fight, and really hurt each other. Unfortunately, I recommend going through…[Read more]

One of my rabbits, Peter, is outgoing, brave, and likes me petting him. The other, Benji, is a lot more shy and skittish. They are two years old this year, and they are neutered, bonded brothers. For some reason, Peter sometimes chases Benji around the pen. Once, I heard one of, I’m pretty sure it was Benji, scream. When I got to them, Peter was…[Read more]

@Dove
oh, yes. Of course! I just bought 2 rugs today 🙂 I wouldn’t let him run around on hardwood floors with no mats or rugs, he’d be so uncomfortable >.< I just need the hardwood versus the carpet, because my previous bun ate a hole the size of my foot out of the carpet at my previous apartment. Haha!

Make sure to give him spots where he’ll have friction on the hardwood floors (mats and whatnot) or else he could get splayed legs.

Thank you for your advice!
She is in a room that my boyfriend and I are in frequently, but I’ll make sure to spend more time with her in the morning to see if that helps.
She doesn’t really care about grass mats, but I got her a basket that she likes to chew on. She has a tube tunnel and a couple of other things to hide in and run through, too.…[Read more]

HipHopBunny started the topic Inward leg? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
Okay, so before anyone panics I should say, this could just be me being an over-protective bun mom. Here’s the story:
So, for the past few days, I’ve noticed OB’s right leg looks a little more inward than the other. She still hops around fine, but she can’t flop as well. Sometimes when she tries to flop, she gets up, and I can tell that she…[Read more]

Thanks for the advice! My Louie has actually started jumping out, hence the top. We tried everything but he was still jumping right out, and because he pees on my bed when I’m gone, we put a top on and then put some cardboard and a sheet on top of the metal top and it functions as a high up resting point for them as well. I’ve tossed the mat tha…[Read more]

Congratulations on your bonded bunnies!
I think more litter trays is always helpful! If you find they’re not using one you can always remove it further down the line but it’s better to have more and prevent bickering.
One large water bowl should be fine. If they share food bowls then again, one is probably fine but there’s no harm in offer…[Read more]

Firstly, this is going to sound very childish, but yaaaaaaaaaaaay! 😀 That is amazing! How long did it take you to bond them? Two weeks? They are going to be an amazing pair! 😀
1: Two litter boxes spread out around the room for the free-roam time could be nice, making sure that there are no accidents, but for the x-pen, I think you would only…[Read more]

Thank you so much for this advice! This is pretty much what all my friends are saying, as well.
Unfortunately until the previous roommate moves out and I move into her room (hardwood floors), I can’t bring him into our house. (My room is carpeted.)
But he has been outside for 4 months already, so I am just going to cross my fingers that…[Read more]
