I just finished the 1st session. It didnt go horrible. While velvet is under the basket she is still trying to nip if the others come close. But when velvet is out and the others are in the basket she only attempted to nip 1 time. I also did an additional 10 min with me just sitting with velvet while the others ran around. And I was very proud of…[Read more]

I’m so glad you got it out! Thank goodness it didnt get really serious.
This can actually happen with most types of hay, and it often needs veterinary attention. Its sth to keep in mind if a rabbit suddenly get a upper respiratory issue. Hay can also make its way into the eyes, get stuck and cause significant trouble.

So. What im just started trying. Because I really don’t want to go through a spell of stasis again. Im really afraid of it happening again. Is i have velvet under a lundry basket where she can see the buns through (and possible nip, but i move the basket before she is able to) and constantly giving her treat for ignoring or even to distract her…[Read more]

BanjoBunny started the topic Grass seed stuck up rabbit's nose in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years ago
I recently bought a small, cheap bale of meadow hay (not sure what type) from a fodder store for both my rabbit to eat and to use for my chicken’s bedding. My bunny loved it, but I noticed there were a lot of small leaves and grass seeds. My rabbit ate those too, but this afternoon when I went to feed her I saw that she had a grass seed stuck up…[Read more]

Please DM me if you cant add pics, I can post them for you if nothing else works.
Currently pics need to be added to your profile images. Once they are there, you can go to the forum post where you want them to show, edit your post and and insert the pics via Add Media. You can then remove them from your profile, if you want to. This works for…[Read more]

Rabbits can overheat when it gets over 80F, so if you canβt bring them in you should plan to cool them down somehow. Frozen bottles and tiles work well, but with bunnies that young I agree they should be inside.

Thank you dove ❤️ that is so very sweet of you
We went to a different vet (again!) And he said that it looked like it was an abscess, maybe not fully formed but now it’s gone, he even took an x-ray and said the abscess is drained already, does that happen? Does an abscess ever get drained itself?
She was on antibiotics for 8 days, enroflaxacin…[Read more]

Is it just chasing at this point? No biting or nipping?

That’s great! Hopefully this means the antibiotic is reaching its intended target. It makes sense since this particular one is supposed to penetrate bone. You’ll have to keep us updated on whether or not the abscess reduces over time.

Is that a hole or a crusty scab-type thing in the middle? It’s hard to tell from the pictures.
Is there a bump underneath the skin that is larger than the dark area in the middle? If the dark area is a hole… then we worry about bot flies. Has he been outside? If the dark area is actually a crusty scab, then there’s the possibility of it being a…[Read more]

I have used the organic baby foods because they generally have less sugar. You can try other flavors like apple, berry or banana.

Hmm, is it actually bumpy? Did it just appear, or did it gradually show up? Does he seem agitated by it? I’m not the savviest, but I think that those answers could help someone who is. π Could be overgrooming, but that picture just leaves me with lots of questions. Hopefully, you find an answer soon, and sorry if this isn’t a satisfying reply, I…[Read more]
