Thank you soooo much, Kate!! It makes me so happy to hear from you, and I so appreciate your kind encouragement and advice.
That’s great about your Zantac syrup! Teddy’s always on meloxicam (due to spondylosis) so he’s always on famotidine too (now that we can’t get Zantac around here). I think someone had commented that yes, famotidine can al…[Read more]

HipHopBunny replied to the topic Help me guess what breed my baby bun is! in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 1 month ago
Oh, what a cutie! Hmm, I’m not that good with breeds, but I would say he definitely looks like he has some Netherland Dwarf in him. Maybe some Californian with those lite grey markings. 8-9 weeks, so I’m guessing that he is almost fully grown. My bun Silver is a Californian, and she looked just like that as a baby, but now she is fully grown and…[Read more]

HipHopBunny started the topic Chronic Breathing issues? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 1 month ago
About OB’s past: OB has always had a little heavier breathing than the others, at one point it was particularly bad, so I took her to the vet discovering that she had a respiratory infection, which had been on my list of possibilities. She got better with the antibiotics, but when she breathes, she just sounds like a watering sprinkler. She…[Read more]

He still has some growing to do. The vet thinks he will top out at 2-2.5lbs.

PurplePineapples started the topic Should I move my bunnies? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 6 years, 1 month ago
My sister moved out for college and now her room in open. I would like to move my rabbits into there and out of their cage, but I’m not sure if that’s a good idea or not. They would have more space, which would be good because they are overweight, and it would be much easier for me to clean my sister’s room than their cage. I would also be able to…[Read more]

In this case, I strongly recommend you do NOT take the bunny. While I understand others have good intentions (and no reason to defend yourselves as we FULLY understand why the option for taking is desirable – believe me, we get it), But as one of the owners of BinkyBunny, I cannot promote this as a viable option — legally this would be co…[Read more]

I would truly simply take the bunny and provide him with proper care. If you’re soo irresponsible that you let your rabbit roam outdoors, then you can suffer the consequences when someone takes them. Just like people who let their cats roam outside and are then shocked when they are hit by a car or go missing.
I think if you’re capable, you…[Read more]

So exciting! Things take time, especially for a prey animal. As long as your consistent in sending trustworthy vibes, most rabbits come around.

Hi binky forum! Hoping someone can give some advice and maybe someone can coach me if they’ve been through this before 🙂
I have been foster mom to a super cute 9-month old rabbit named Snowball for the past 3 months. Right before I got him, he had surgery to remove his two front teeth, but otherwise, was healthy. When I took him in, I fed hi…[Read more]

Try putting a litter box on the couch and make sure there’s still hay in it. Maybe he will go in there, it’s at least worth a try in my opinion. It stopped my bun from peeing on my bed.

It sounds like there’s no permanent damage done, so hopefully this has been an informative experience for both you and your family with rabbit care expectations. If your family may continue to contribute to your rabbit’s care, it is important to stress the importance of the correct diet; not only in content, but also in quantity.
The weight gain…[Read more]

How serious are the squabbles? As long as they are still getting along afterwards and they don’t get hurt, it’ll probably be okay if that happens. But you could try petting them to calm them down, or you could give them treats when they aren’t near each other. You could also guide them away from each other with a treat in each hand. With the…[Read more]

I was gone for a few weeks, so my family had to take care of my rabbits. When I got home a few days ago, I realized that they have gained a lot of weight during my absence… They’re now quite fat. I can’t really even feel their spines! When I was away, they ran out of pellets for a few days, and then hay. Also, Benji wouldn’t eat his pellets…[Read more]

Hi, I haven’t posted in ages 🙂 I have a bonded pair of rabbits, M/F, both fixed, who have been living together for about a year and a half after meeting at rabbit speed dating. They are devoted to one another, and are constantly cuddling and grooming one another. It was a pretty easy bond, because professionals at the shelter got us started an…[Read more]

That would be great. Her appetite is improving and there has been no massive blobs of mucus.
Tonight she’s been in pain since 9pm woth gas until she passed the mucus covered poos. They are a great size though. No small hard pellets. No obvious streaks of blood either.
I can’t wait to get to the bottom of this. We’re so tired of the endless…[Read more]
