Peter'sOwner started the topic Walking Dandruff Advice for Rabbits Please in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
I’m 90% sure my pet rabbits have walking dandruff, Cheyletiellosis but I have an appointment with my Vet for the end of next week to get them checked out for sure that the earliest appointment they had and there aren’t many vets where I live that see exotic animals.
Till then they are pretty itchy and it seems to be getting worse I’ve been…[Read more]

Great!!! I’ll try petting them when they are requesting grooming. They are so sweet together lol I worse some heavy winter gloves because I was scared they may fight. They seemed to like them though as far as petting goes. After a few tub dates I’ll move to another location. I work from home and my office would be neutral. Would you recommend the…[Read more]

@HipHopBunny Thank you! It was just for a little bit but he was doing it yesterday for a bit too. I’m gonna try to get an appointment when I can find a good vet in my area!
@DanaNM Yeah I’m not sure… He left poops there when he got up. He poops everywhere in his pen though. I give him veggies and pellets in the morning and he always eats ever…[Read more]

Can you keep her inside? She shouldn’t be ingesting pieces of brick, concrete or coal. If it didn’t cause her health issues, if certainly will make things worse.
I agree with Dana, I would get a second opinion, a knowledgeable vet wouldn’t immediately recommend putting her to sleep without further testing.

Ok that makes me feel better. I knew it was probably just me being too paranoid.

Well, we are back from our trip, and all the buns are fully vaccinated (YAY), so I can finally work on bonding these gremlins!
Good thing too, because they are starting to get antsy!
I think my plan is to spend the next week or so doing some introductions with just Myra and Bonnie, since I think they will be the most trouble.
I will introduce…[Read more]

Megacolon is pretty rare, even with the gene that is linked to it, but it’s good to be aware of. Since Bernard’s diet has kind of been all over the place, my suspicion is that her weird poops are most likely related to that. I can’t tell the size from your pic, but the megacolon poops are also HUGE, like they remind me of an easter egg candy. To…[Read more]

Sounds like a good plan. If things get bad again without any potential dietary causes, that would be my next move. The back molars also really aren’t visible without anesthesia (28 teeth in that tiny mouth!!), so sometimes there could be problems in the back that you can’t see.

If my memory is correct, I believe Bernards droppings have been different sizes since I’ve had her (3 months). I thought that was normal until I seen some pictures online of Megacolon droppings. I might just be paranoid, but Bernards droppings look a lot like those pictures. Of course, I know there are probably other explanations so I just w…[Read more]

She could be a false Charlie too. It’s hard to tell, especially with her coloring being so light. I wouldn’t be too worried though. Not all (many argue most) will not develop megacolon. And those that do have it will start showing signs when they are young and it gradually gets worse as they age.

Oh wow. She had the spurs before she had all of these issues but I will definitely keep this in mind, she is due a health check soon anyway so I will ask the vet to check her teeth, thank you for this information 🙂

Sounds like a normal early date to me! I would try to do the same type of date a few times in a row, and set a short time goal (say like 5-15 minutes depending on how long the last date was).
I usually try to repeat a date a few times to see if they make progress. If after several dates things seem to be getting worse, then I change up the set-up…[Read more]
