Hey guys, recently I switched to using pee pads in my rabbit’s grated litter pan. This helps control my asthma as all the other litters gave me asthma attacks. The problem now is, they stink! I read that with urine, sometimes the smell isn’t immediate and only once it begins to decompose. It smells really bad, especially as we are having heat…[Read more]

Hi guys.
Do you think my rabbit is dehydrated or something more serious?
Mochi is around 3-4 years old, spayed. For the last few days she’s been pooping all over her pen, I thought this was odd as she’s usually a clean lady. Some of her poops were darker and runny in consistency. I also noticed over the course of 2 days that she’s not eatin…[Read more]

Here in the PNW it’s been warm and some fires in eastern WA, the other day I woke up and the upstairs smelled like smoke. Luckily my and the bunnies’ room is actually a finished daylight basement so it’s nice and cool and separate from then main level of the house. I have a ton of photos to share of Louie and Lola together, I’ll try to get some up soon.

Where has the time gone! Lola one month anniversary in our home was just yesterday. Louie’s 5th month is coming up soon too.

Thank you so much, Hazel!! I’m totally with you on that, and hope that more research is allowed soon. Caution is good, but that much just isn’t warranted in this case.
But wonder of wonders, Teddy is drinking water on his own! He seems recovered now, knock on wood! 😀 So I haven’t tried the pineapple juice yet. And although he isn’t sleep…[Read more]

She is beautiful! And no, I don’t think so. She’s a Rex mixed with a little bit of something else.
Don’t worry she’ll get lots and lots of pets and I’ll let her know some of them are from you 😉

Oh, she’s beautiful! 😀 Is she a Rhinelander? I love that spotted pattern, what a cutie! You are going to have to give her lots of pets for me! *Pets screen softly…*

…. I sure hope there’ll be pictures soon, it’d be mighty disappointing if there were no pictures – gosh, that part was hard to type! Since you said you had some of her, I wouldn’t mind seeing a…[Read more]

Hi all! Some of you may have seen my post about adopting an older rabbit so I thought I’d give an update.
For anyone that hasn’t seen it, there’s a 6-year-old female Rex rabbit at a nearby rescue that I really like. We applied to adopt her.
We had our virtual home check and interview today and it went great! She was on the floor with the b…[Read more]

The vet will give you the doseage based on weight. You apply it to the skin at the nape of the neck. I believe that usually 1 or 2 treatments is enough.

@DanaNM Thank you. Where do I apply it on him? And how much of it do I apply? And just once?

I don’t know what the dosage is, but Bam is correct on the 4 week course. This is different from what you would do if you were simply “deworming”. I have to agree with Bam that this does sound like EC. He recovered so quickly the first time, so it seemed logical to conclude it was a stroke-like event. So either he had another stroke, or he is…[Read more]

Starlight: I love that bun bed, it fits her just perfectly. 🙂 Oh yes, they are the queens of the house once they enter it. 😆 Those giant attitudes packed in small bodies, eh? 😉 She is so, so fluffy! How is one supposed to look at that mountain of fluff and not pet her! Give her lots of pets for me! 😉

I had a long talk with my mother this afternoon about the injections. She seemed receptive to what I was saying. We’re going to follow the vet’s instructions with the chloramphenicol and then see if her appetite comes back on its own after a couple days. We will then consult with the vet and hopefully, my parents will decide to give the penicillin…[Read more]
