Cilantro is a very good daily staple. Kale is good in moderation, but has high calcium content so it can cause some bladder sludge issues sometimes. It can also cause gas in some buns, but most tolerate it. Parsley is also a good one, but should be fed in a rotation due to high oxalate and calcium content. In general, more variety is better. Your…[Read more]

Hi all! My new bun, Esther, doesnโt seem to be a fan of lettuces. She never finishes her whole bowl, and tends to let it sit there through the day. She has no lack of appetite, and eats her pellets and hay just fine, but seems to just not like lettuce. I gave her two pieces of parsley a little while ago, and she LOVES it. Iโm going to exp…[Read more]

I doubt they’d accept a blanket you’ve sent with her, due to covid, but make sure the carrier is well furnished with soft fabrics that smell like “home”. Perhaps a tee-shirt that you’ve been sleeping in?

So happy to hear this and that he’s doing better!
Stasis is so terrifying. Glad you got him some treatment and he seems to be improving!

::Update::
Thank you much for the advice. Luckily I managed to find an animal hospital that takes bunnies. It was a 1 and a half hour drive but it was best I could do.
He was diagnosed with GI stasis. They took him in and did a full body exam. They found no other issue aside from GI stasis.
They sent him back home with me with instructions…[Read more]

I know one of our members (no longer active on the forums) just recently gave her bun a sanitary shave with they type of cutter we normally use for our own bikini shaves 😀 She took great care to not go too close to the skin because you don’t want to nick the skin, obviously. It helps a lot f you can get someone else to help you hold the bun.

You could also maybe try mixing a little unsweetened applesauce or critical care in with it, so that itโs yummy. Or maybe putting a little banana on the end of the syringe – although if it has a strong taste that might not work as well.

Will you be able to be in the room when they do the exam? If you are, you can bring a towel or blanket that she can sit on during the exam. Vet tables are very slippery and shiny for sanitary reasons, a towel under the bun makes the experience less awful for the bun.
I give a probiotic before stressful events like vet visit or travel. Fragrant…[Read more]
