Thank you! I can try to do that for the last dose of today. I just did the second dose. I think he swallowed it all, he ate a couple pellets I gave him as a treat after. Then I pet him for a few minutes and he calmed down. And I’m pretty sure he was passing gas because I could smell something weird coming from him.
It’s really hard to get him in…[Read more]

I do have a spray hose for wetting the clothes, so I can mist myself if absolutely necessary. Not very dignified, but what can you do… 🙄 My coworker has this nifty little fan that you hang around your neck, I might have to get one of those. 😆
Hold up HipHop, you’re not saying you actually have a turtle, right?!

Don’t feel bad, you’re doing what’s best for him. If you have to do it by yourself, try kneeling on the ground and box him in between your legs and then hold his head while squeezing it into his mouth. Make sure to go slow so he doesn’t choke. If he refuses to swallow, take the syringe out, then give some more after he got it down. Afterwards I…[Read more]

Muchelle: Really? 😮 In that picture of them, they looked like they could run a mile and not break a sweat! 😛 Yes, you could walk them on a leash to the store to teach them the directions! 😉 (I love that idea…sadly my turtle is a bit too small to be walked on a leash, haha. )
Hazel: 😆 Hopefully, the fan is helping! What I use is…[Read more]

It’s completely normal. 🙂 We all have had first-time parent worries, it’s natural. 😉 Your girl seems very healthy and happy, I’m sure that there is nothing wrong going on inside her body. 🙂 Like Muchelle said though, if you have a health concern, it is great to make a post, you may not need it, but no bit of knowledge is ever wasted. :-)…[Read more]

It’s not so much pawing at her mouth as it is scratching with her back feet. The rescue said she’s a grazer with her veggies.
Also are these comfy positions or pain positions?

I gave him 0.5ml. He pulled his head away when I tried to give it without holding him. So I tried to push him onto a blanket I could wrap him in but he ran away and went over to Muffin. I didn’t want any biting so I had to take him away over to the spot I was trying to give him it. He was kicking 😭. I put a blanket on his whole body and covered h…[Read more]

I haven’t used that brand, but as far as I can tell they should be fine. He doesn’t have to have food with it. I use one with 20mg of Simethicone and give 1ml at a time.

Even if it were a common practice, it’s not good to do anything you don’t feel comfortable with, because you’ll be nervous and they can feel it! (unless it’s something life-saving like admininstering medicines, for example… that has to be done…)
I’d say call the vet and ask about an ointment or something to soothe the skin and do try the dry…[Read more] -

if you think about it, getting a pet you really wanted to have is a bit like having a kid of your own… so I think your anxiety is justified for now. Give yourself (and the bun) time to get used to each other, learn each other’s patterns. Once you’ll get to know the bun better, you’ll gain confidence and will feel more at ease.
just a tip: if…[Read more]

Thanks pinkiemarie – that’s good to know!. He’s been here in my home for the last 3 months and was in the shelter previously for a while. I previously had a post here on his soft stools so no need to suggest dietary changes – usually the recommendation for intermittent soft stools is hay only, but considering that Snowball eats for most of the d…[Read more]

Hi guys.
This is kind of a question but more of a casual one. I’ve been feeling so much anxiety about my new bun, worrying about every noise, every sleeping position, everything. I get chills and I get sick to my stomach and I just worry. Did this happen to you guys? Will this get better? She’s only been here since Friday but I love her so muc…[Read more]

My bunnies eat a lot but they definitely have a good chunk of the day when they’re just sleeping or playing. I agree that he may be eating slowly, and if he was not fed enough at his prior home he might also be taking advantage of theore generous food portions at your house to bulk up a little. I’m not sure what’s up with his soft stools so I’m…[Read more]

Oh also if it makes a difference her nose isn’t usually moving when she does it, so I’m pretty sure she’s sleeping. Though she did do it when she was playing with her toys earlier so … ?

I saw some old posts of someone else asking how to use it. One of the mods said 0.50ml once every hour for three hours. Since this one has 40mg of Simethicone. So that would be 1.5ml today. Do I need to give him a meal with it?
