    Hello all!

I am considering adopting a 1yo male bunny from a household that can no longer keep him. To get him to his new home, I will need to transport him by car for 30 minutes, stay at that house for 1 day, then take the train for 45 minutes and car for 20 minutes to our home. So after we get him, he’d have 1 day to calm down in a new…[Read more]

Thank you everyone for the very helpful responses! I did some of what you said DanaNM and it seems that Rain was probably just a little dehydrated that day from spending so much time upstairs away from her litter box. Thanks for the link Bam, and the good vibes MrsBunny.

Ah, I see. There is the chance that his hormones are still adjusting. It typically takes 4-6 weeks, but the post-neuter craze can last up to 8 weeks. During this time, it isn’t unusual for a bunny to display more hormonal behavior than before they were neutered. It probably wouldn’t hurt to restrict their space at night until he calms down. Once…[Read more]

I’ll also just add that you haven’t been working with them too long and your sessions are pretty short so far (if they are still just 30 min). If they still get feisty over a clean litter box, try waiting until they are spending many hours together at a time and then try to add it in. It could just be a bit too early in the process to add it. Buns…[Read more]

I got Otis (newer bun) in late July and got him neutered early August. They are bonded now, it did take a couple weeks for them to adjust to eachother though. Glad to hear it would be okay to crate him if necessary, I felt like a bad bunny mom having to do that.

it would definitely be more ideal if I didn’t have to because the crate I have for h…[Read more]

How long ago was he neutered? And are they bonded?

There is nothing wrong with restricting space at night. Some bunnies just need that structure.

Hi! I have two free roam lionhead bunnies, one is 7 months old the other is about 5 months. They are both males and neutered. I’m having really bad luck with litter training the younger bunny. Our older bunny is pretty much completely trained. We will occasionally see some poops here and there after him running around and playing which is not a…[Read more]

    Sounds normal to me.

If the vet was digging around in there, it can cause the ear to swell inside. This isn’t unusual and would explain the worsened head tilt following the exam. I would give the antibiotic a chance to work before worrying that it could be something else.

Yes, the bald spots are caused by something. That’s why I initially thought perhaps syphilis or something similar.

    Hey guys.

Pretty sure my girl is just going through a molt right now but I just wanted to check what was normal.

She’s munching hay in her box right now so I don’t have any pictures yet. Pretty much her fur is coming out in patches (I’ve been gently pulling the loose tufts because I don’t want her ingesting too much of it) and she has patches…[Read more]

I wonder if it could be from scent glands? Are the spots stinky?

@borya01 The link that @Bam posted was what I was going to recommend for searching. No brand is really perfect, so the idea is to pick one that is mostly correct, and then fill in any deficiencies with other parts of the diet.

In the ideal rabbit diet, the pellet is a very small proportion, so even an expensive pellet shouldn’t be breaking the…[Read more]

Kianna replied to the topic Has Anyone Tried Walking Their Rabbit? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 11 months ago

I have tried this, CAREFULLY! I have two buns, and tried it with my more calm bunny, I used a harness that fit snug (but not too tight!) I put it in inside in another room (that he’s not familiar with) to see how he would handle it. He didn’t try to escape and didn’t freak out as I’m sure some bunnies will. I brought him outside with his little…[Read more]
