Sometimes rabbits do pass a few stuck together poop. It’s ok if its only a few and the rest of the poop is fine. It’s great that you noticed it though!
The most common cause for a slight gut slowdown is molting. If your rabbit is in a molt right now you should brush her, preferably daily or as needed, so she doesnt ingest too much hair when she…[Read more]

I’m worried after cleaning my rabbit’s litter box. I found some double and triple poop between her other golden poop. Her behavior seems normal now, and she still eats as usual, even producing golden poop. What should I do with her? She’s giving me mixed signals.

Hi everyone, this is a kind of part 2 to the last post I made about my rabbit Winnie. We ended up taking her to the vet, did a full body examination and she is in perfect health appearance wise. Dr says she doesn’t seem to be in any pain and is overall a healthy bunny. We did an xray that particular day and very bizarrely, Winnie’s appendix was so…[Read more]

It’s hard to tell. Weeds sometimes get into hay. Some companies hand sort hay prior to bagging to try to minimize unwanted plants, but it isn’t 100% foolproof. You could contact the company to see if they will replace the bag. Places like Petco will generally allow you to exchange.

If it is Kaytee I think they’d be willing to answer your questions, but you will have to wait until Monday. Could you get a smallish hay bag of another brand and feed that meanwhile? Sometimes unwanted plants that shouldnt be in good hay can get in there f ex if there’s been a period of drought.

I’m located in Georgia, USA. The hay is Kaytee brand purchased from PetCo. I tried calling customer service but they can’t answer the phone until regular business hours on Monday.

I can’t say what weed this is, PlantNet gives me several suggestions but no really positive id. Could you ask what type plant it is at the pet store or supplier? I don’t recognize it from any hay I’ve had.
Sometimes local Facebook rabbit groups post about unusual plants theyve found in hay, and that could be good if the hay is sourced locally.…[Read more]

The expiration date on the bag is 29/08/2025. I’ve never seen these in my hay bags before and I don’t know if it’s safe. Do you think it’s ok to still feed to my rabbits?

Apologies for difficulty posting.
Im not sure this is mold. Looks more like some sort of seedhead fluff. Same principle as dandelion fluff although these are obv not dandelions.

I opened a “new” bag of hay today. Hay has been very poor quality over the past couple of years so my parents have been stockpiling the good ones they find. I told them that I buy hay as needed to that it stays as fresh as possible, but they have been having hay regularly delivered to their house so much that the bags end up sitting around for too…[Read more]

Ha, one refused to give me a sample all day. I separated her during the day and she was furious. I let them be together in the evening and then separated again overnight. She had the worst litter habits ever (compared to herself), showing me she knows how to go, just not on my time table.
The other one gave me exactly what I needed immediately. I…[Read more]

It’s great that you’re asking questions. Even people who have had poorly buns before need to ask questions, bc when you have a poorly bun, it’s so stressful that it’s hard to remember anything tbh. Plus its always good to discuss stuff with fellow bun people.
I think fresh leafy greens like herbs etc are good for him now, when he needs extra…[Read more]

Thanks Bam. The cecals look normal. It’s odd bc he was eating them earlier today. I gave him plenty of greens which he did eat. Should I limit the greens until he is eating more hay? Sorry for all the questions. This is the first time he’s been sick.
