Would Bene-Bac help with his stomach problems? I know that it is often given along with antibiotics to help with GI issues.

This could be about her hormones settling. Some buns, more often girl buns than boy buns, need quite a bit of time before their hormones settle after they have been neutered. It can take anything from 4 weeks to a cpl of months.
Then there is “puberty” in the sense of transitioning from babyhood to adulthood. This change will take place even of…[Read more]

Hi, I will be very grateful to any helpful advice.
My bunny is approximately 6 months old, we’ve had her since about 13 weeks old and she was spayed the last week of November. I only had her spayed so I can get her a husbun. The past week or so, she has started chewing the sofa and to growl and lunge at me which is strange as she was never like…[Read more]

Follow up
So vet decided we obviously stop azithromycin because of his reaction.
They decided to put him on duplocillin (penicillin injections). He has been getting 1 a week. He has had 3 so far. After first I noticed wet nose went away but came back. Same thing right now. Noticed his nose is wet. No discharge this morning but last night there…[Read more] -

I’ve now got my 4th adopted bunny, renamed Pancake, to bond with Snoopy! She is a harlequin and a bit bigger than him, but they did well at the shelter so decided to take her home!
Getting them set up was a challenge, at first had them in the basement with Maxwell and Ruby but they were all too crazy (I’m in a rental and technically I only should…[Read more]

I got my sweet boy Binx this most recent summer, and he is my first rabbit. I got him when he was 11 weeks old, got him neutered as soon as he was old enough, and have done so much research on bonding with rabbits. I have laid on the floor with him every day for hours, hand fed him treats, and let him come to me when it comes to petting and…[Read more]

If you can keep the dog and cat away from the area for a bit maybe you can lure her out with some yummy treats? It might still take some time though, but not 5 days.

So last night I had my rabbits in my room and took them back outside to their cage and made sure all the doors were locked. I wake up this morning to find out that the door to that cage was open and one of them escaped. I think I either didn’t lock it properly or a cat opened it. my dog chased her under the pergola (the pergola is really big) b…[Read more]

I second the post above – Benjamin always has a very slight head tilt to the left even a year after treatment. This second EC flair his head tilt became even more prominent during treatment but a couple of weeks into the panacur course his head tilt went back to his regular slightly-tilted manner. We’re still working on getting his weight and…[Read more]

It can take several weeks to see improvements in some cases. Adding an anti-inflammatory such as metacam can help with symptoms in the early phases of treatment.
If it makes you feel better, in some places people will treat all of their rabbits preventatively with Panacur whenever they introduce a new rabbit to the “herd”. My bun would eat his…[Read more]

Just gave Winnie her first dose and had the scare of a lifetime right before as she almost chocked to death on pellets. She’s ok now but I got so scared that it was a sign to not go through with treatment. Anyway, her dose is 0.34 ml every 24 hours and they gave me nothing else, just the panacur. I’m watching her now and shes just eating normally,…[Read more]

I dont think you need to worry as long as the dosage and duration of treatment is right. Dosage for e cuniculi is 20 mg per kilo body weight per day, for 28 days. Panacur 10% fenbendazole contains 100 mg per ml.
Non-rabbit vets are as a rule not very rabbit savvy. And rabbit savvy vets are few and far between.
