Hey guys. My rabbit is a digger. I have just moved and in my new home is all hardwood floors. The last few days my rabbit has been in an oversized dog crate – you know the kind ? It has a hard plastic tray on the bottom. This has actually been great because the tray keeps her cool and she can dig all she wants and it won’t destroy the floor.…[Read more]

Its close to my knee. I don’t want her to go on top of it. It’s wire and there’s spaces between them, when she is on top her foot might slip in between and she might get hurt

“What triggers the chase?”
Haha, Smokey coming remotely near them. 😆 They can be fine with Smokey sometimes and will flop with her and groom her. Other times, they just chase her away. No, it doesn’t lead to circling, Smokey is a sweet bun, sometimes they will corner her, and she’ll turn around to face them. You can definitely tell though,…[Read more]

I have also used cardboard in a pinch! But they will prob chew through it so you would need to replace it often. 🙂

I also wonder if you could add some steps or a ramp for her to go up and down more safely? I had a foster that would jump up on things but was afraid to go down. I kept finding him hungry and thirsty stuck on the top level of his condo! Adding some ramps did the trick. 🙂

How tall is her x-pen? Does it have a wire bottom? Maybe you could make a little stepping stool that is big enough for her to land on when she is jumping down? I have a rabbit named Smokey who has a fear of heights as well. Although, she’s too scared to go jumping on things higher than 2-5 inches! 😆 But having something that is around the…[Read more]

Hey everyone, I’m new here. I am a new bunny mom and I’ve been taking care of my bunny for a month now. I put her in a big cage when we sleep or not home, today she has learned something new.. she would jump on top of the cage and then she would get scared and can’t go down, I had to take her down by myself two times today. What should I do?I…[Read more]

Joey is a big big girl and the laziest bun I have ever met in my life. I think if I allowed her to she would sit in one spot her entire life. 😂

Sometimes they just hang. Lol.
My last boy rarely had them tucked away.

Yeah, definitely have to figure out what will work. Probably will also move around some of their things so that the portion of that wall is covered with their furniture lol. We’ll see. Thank you for the advice, those NIC grids would be perfect but I’m trying to find out a cheaper option since I’ve already bought a bunch of stuff 😅.

You guys, I am irrationally excited about this discovery, so I thought I would share here.
I’ve already mentioned it in another bonding thread, but I was looking at a slide show on bonding put together by the Ohio House Rabbit Society, and they mentioned that they had “nose guards” for sale in their shop or that you could find them online. Looked…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Bunny Won't Eat after Antibiotics in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 11 months ago
My suspicion is that he just need supportive gut care and pain management while he recovers from all the antibiotics. Are all of the vets you saw rabbit savvy? Sometimes non-rabbit vets will push antibiotics for things that make matters worse.
It sounds like you have had some positive signs lately though, so I would just keep up the supportive…[Read more]

I can’t clip nails either, mainly because of diabetes, I can’t see that closely anymore. So I trot my bunnies butts over to the vet. 5 minutes, all done, everyone gets a treat.

Extra boredom buster toys will help too. Phone books and newspaper paper mats seem especially satisfying for frustrated bunnies to shred.

It’s hard when life is busy! So I feel ya on that.
Agree that a bit more stressing, and perhaps some longer sessions, maybe a change of scenery could help! But then again sometimes it’s just time…. !
When they chase, can you see what triggers it? And what happens if you don’t intervene? Does it lead to a circling? Sometimes it can be necessary…[Read more]

Today I just clipped a few nails on my bunnies that looked a bit long. Didn’t clip them all at once. I did it while they were eating their veggies and pellets on the floor and just wiggled a paw out that looked like it had some long nails. I think some bunnies can be aggressive if you’re near them while they eat? So might not work for some bun…[Read more]
