Vibes for little (((Dawn))).
I agree, the antibiotic enrofloxacin (baytril) can help *some* with EC as it has some antifungal properties & EC is a microspore.
Panacur is available at a feed /farm supply store. Or online. You could buy it then have the vet let you know the dosage. Or get them to give you a idea of how much they charge for it. My…[Read more]

As Dana said, they will hold grudges. It might be best to start from scratch, give them a month to calm down before doing any more bonding sessions. Every falling out they have will make it harder to bond them in the future. If possible I would house them away from each other for a while to help them forget.

it’s been 2.5 weeks since the fight and they have been living seperatly but still can see each other through the fence since then
we bring them in together most days and started off with just 5 mins then 10 yesterday was about 30mins together
what positive behaviour should I be looking for? Thanks

How long have they had to calm down from the fight? I’m fairly certain the nose injury was a bite, and injuries like that can cause hurt feelings that take some time to heal. Bunnies definitely hold grudges.
It sounds like you were working on bonding them in neutral territory, but I’m not clear on how long you were working with them there or what…[Read more]

My rabbit Negan has been acting clingy and has taken to nipping me when I stop petting her but now she’s acting even stranger. Now she’s been trying get under me and acts nervous until she is, like under my arm or some other part of me. Once she’s curled up close to me or has my arm under me she’ll calm down and sometimes doze off but the she’ll…[Read more]

We have 2 male rabbits – brothers we got last year they are now a year old, both neutered
Scamp is the more dominant I thought,
They are very different
Simba is passive, easier to pick up and hold, generally less inquisitive, prefers to lay in the bedroom all day
Scamp is more naughty he’ll investigate a new toy and chew it up, if you enter t…[Read more]

If they sell an indoor rabbit formula, then I would suggest going with that one. The outdoor formula likely has extra calories, etc. to help rabbits maintain body heat when living outdoors. Since you are planning on having house bunnies, there would be no need to provide them with more than their bodies need.
You can feed 2 bunnies together or…[Read more]

Yes, it’s pretty inexpensive. You can buy it over the counter, but I would have the vet help you with determining the correct dosage.
Loki shouldn’t need treatment unless he starts showing symptoms. Rabbits are often exposed to EC early in life and it remains inside their bodies. Most rabbits do not develop symptoms. Even if Loki was never…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic How to get bunny in carrier? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 11 months ago
@LBJ10 haha yeah I usually just grab mine too. I used to do the no-touch method and would always feed them in it, but got tired of having the carrier sitting out all the time.

Some bunnies are just prone to gas too. I always keep simethicone on-hand just in case. There is debate about how much it really helps, but I’ve always had good luck with it.

I agree. The bacteria involved could be resistant to Bayril. I would try some different antibiotics before giving up.

Hmm… I’ve never had issues with just grabbing a bunny and placing them inside the carrier when needed. My experience probably isn’t typical though. 😉
I agree with the others. If you’re trying do a “no touch” capture, then getting them used to the carrier by keeping it in their area is a good approach.

Yeah good point. I guess I am just wondering if short sessions might be a better bet, and if that’s the case I need to figure out where to date them at home. There’s always the bathtub I guess. 🙄

DanaNM replied to the topic What to do next? in the forum BONDING 5 years, 11 months ago
It’s hard to say how they will react. Have they currently seen Gwen at all? I’ve been working on a trio, and when I first brought the new bun home the pair were pretty upset about it. I ended up blocking their view of her with towels, and then slowly removing the barriers. Their bond didn’t break, but it might have if I hadn’t gone very slowly…[Read more]
