Yay for another happy bunny match! They look very snuggly. You and @Louiethebunny should post all your pointers!

Agree that the diet sounds good overall, but some buns don’t do well with any pellets at all. So you might try adding in a second hay (maybe not completely eliminating orchard) and taking away the pellets and treats.
Bene-bac is a probiotic that some members have had success with regarding poopy-bum. Since your bun lives with a healthy bunny,…[Read more]

His diet sounds great, there’s nothing that jumps out at me that would be likely to cause any issues. I would try what you’ve already considered and switch to a different hay. Hopefully that will make a difference. 🙂

It might be a good idea to give her some Simethicone (baby gas drops) as well, just in case there’s any gas trapped that’s slowing things down or causing her pain. It won’t do any harm, and if nothing else it will at least provide some lubrication and hopefully help things move along.
Good luck, you’re doing all you can. Please keep us updated.

Getting another bun to bond with her is definitely not a now thing, but I like planning ahead. I may or may not have been planning to get a bun for two years before I even knew if I was allowed 😛 .
Hehe 😛 . Don’t worry, I wouldn’t dare complete a bunny bond before your girls are bonded 😉 .
Good luck with your girls! I…[Read more]

Oh, great job! I’m glad you are seeing some poop, and its great that she can be in your room!
A poorly rabbit can still get cold even if the ambient temperature is not low, so she might benefit from a warm water bottle. She must have the choice of whether she wants to lie near it of course, because you dont want her to get too hot.
When there is…[Read more]

My boy seems to have a way sensitive gut or allergies. Darkish poops and not well-formed cecotropes. I use Sherwood Digestive tablets to help supplement, but I’d like some thoughts on how to help. My other rabbit on the exact same diet is fantastic, great poops, no cecotrope mess ever.
I give a small number of greens daily, but I think I need to…[Read more]

Firstly, I would like to say, OMG I TOTALLY SUPPORT BUNNY BONDING!
Although, as you said, you do have some problems to work with. As Dana said above, I would let Esther settle in for a while more before introducing another bun. 🙂 After another month or so, if Covid lifts enough to do so, I think it would be great for you to take her on a few…[Read more]

Okay thanks Dana! This would be a future thing, at least 3/4 months likely. The 20 and 40 square feet are only the living space, and after the bonding they would free roam the rest of my room anywhere from 8-14 hours a day (before bonding they’d split that time) and maybe eventually fully free roam in my room. In terms of if the bonding didn’t wor…[Read more]

It can help to pin up a towel or blanket over the side that she’s biting.
Also, is she getting plenty of exercise? Bunnies are most active at night, so giving her more exercise in the evenings might help too.

While I am an advocate for bonded bunnies in general, I’m thinking since Esther is so new and potentially has some health concerns, it would be good to just settle into having her for a bit.
There have been some super easy bondings on the forum recently (I would be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous!), but it is often a lot more work that some of…[Read more]

Update on Pippin, she’s still weak and poorly and along with your advice and the vets via telephone (I live in Wales UK it’s quiet remote and the vet will not see her) i’m CC feeding her every 3 hours and we are getting output, albeit very small also fluids but I’m not just filling her little body up with nothing coming out. I’ll be with her round…[Read more]

Hi guys!
Recently I’ve been really considering getting a friend for Esther but there are a few things I need to take into consideration.
First off, there’s the possibility that my girl might have cancer. It’s low, because when the vet spayed her and saw the uterine cancer, they said that while it was quite advanced, there were no signs of it…[Read more]

What is the square footage of the cage (length times width of the bottom level). My girl bites the bars for a little bit once she realizes her pen is closed but then calms down quick and plays with her toys/ chills in her pen. It could be that she doesn’t have enough space because they do need quite a bit. My girl has about 24 square feet for h…[Read more]

I have two rabbits one mini lop and one holland lop. The mini lop is a female and she tends to bite the cage all night keeping me up all night. What can I do to stop this behavior? She has food, water, toys and hay in her cage all the time. Let alone she has a xxl dog crate that I turned into a 3 stories for her. Any suggestions will work. -

Agree with Bam, she needs a vet. She has to have mobility meds, if her gut doesn’t start moving again all the food you’re syringe feeding her has nowhere to go and can end up making things worse. Before mobility meds can be given, they have to rule out a blockage. She also needs pain meds and hydration.

The bunny room (my room lol) is in desperate need of a new coat of paint, but I’m concerned that it can have negative health effects on them. There’s no way for me to move them somewhere else so I just have to open the windows and keep it ventilated. Does anyone have any paint brand they recommend? Is this something I should be as worried about as…[Read more]
