She’s not really the destroying type unless it’s a cardboard box or cords. I will definitely snap a pic of her when she is snoozing in it.

I don’t have a 2nd bun, just Dorian. Yeah I think knowing the personality will be a big one as they have to get a long with Dorian and also be able to free roam. My original intentions was to adopt a pair, but well I met Dorian at the shelter and that was that. Thanks for the tips @Moonlightbunny66 !

UPDATE ON PIPPIN
I really don’t know how she/we are doing this but there’s been a change, she’s back eating her wet greens albeit in little bits and some bits of hay, I changed the syringe to a small med one which without having to huddle her up she’s taking from me, And the odd lap of water from her bowl…breathing much better still very li…[Read more]

I don’t think it’s ever too late to swap pens!
When Bun Jovi and Bertha hit a stalemate (they would be fine and cuddling all day, then would scuffle every night like clockwork), the thing that worked was a change of scenery and marathoning there. Something about the new location, things just clicked. I wrote an article about it…[Read more]

So I did a thing in Joeys pen. She loves hammocks but they are always too small for her. Sooooo I bought a hanging chair and hung it (securely) at the end of her enclosure.

You can put fur over and wrap with self-adhesive vet wrap, but it is not unproblematic. Most rabbits really hate all kinds of bandages and will try their best to rip them off. If the rabbit succeeds in pulling out the fur that lines the wrap, the wrap itself is abrasive.
Putting a cone on a rabbit to prevents it from reaching the wraps comes with…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Are these herbs/flowers safe? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 11 months ago
The only herb of those you have listed I haven’t fed, is fenugreek. It is most likely fine in small amounts.
Dried peas are not recommended and not dried corn kernels. Oat seed heads are somewhat rich, but often highly appreciated and not too hard on the tummy.

When a bun is fighting meds and syringed food, it is generally a good sign. It means there is some strenght.
The breathing difficulties are very worrisome. Is her tummy hard and distended?
Keep up the supportive measures as best you can.

I added a warning, for sensitive readers.
I’m very sorry that you are going through this.
His bonded mate knows something isnt right, and with the very keen sense of smell that rabbits have, I’d not be surprised if she identifies the lump as something abnormal. Cancer cells have a genome which is very different from the healthy cells of the…[Read more]

They haven’t really improved or changed at all. *Sigh* This is not fair! These three found each other through speed dating, just like MoonLightBunny and Louiethebunny! How come we haven’t bonded already? 😆 I hear you on that though, sometimes they are great friends, other times they can barely tolerate each other! 😥 So this is the best…[Read more]

Sometimes I think the marathon (or other really long sessions, doesn’t necessarily have to be 24/7) can be what finally makes them realize the other rabbit just isn’t going away so they better sort things out for good. Especially when bonding has been going on a long time, it almost seems to me like they can get settled into the status quo and not…[Read more]

Well, there still are a few times where Silver, ahem, chases Smokey around the room. 🙁 Not too happy about that. Although they still get along pretty well on other occasions, so I’m torn about trying a marathon…eh, I should just do it and get it over with, right? 😆
Here’s a picture of them snuggling!

They most likely even it out. 🙂 If you are worried though, and/or you do see Muffin getting a bit of a tummy, what you could do, is have them eat half of their dinner/breakfast in food dishes, then sprinkle the rest over their pen. I do agree, it strengthens their bond to eat together, hopefully doing half and half will do the trick. 🙂

Hi…I have a bonded pair bunnies for 11 years now. Recently in March, we noticed a lump on the male bunny. His name is Bucky. But due to Covid, we couldn’t get to a vet fast enough. By end of May, we managed to get an appointment at the vet but his tumor had grown big.
The doctor said surgery is not advised due to his age and since its on the…[Read more]
