Oh she looks too cute in there! Total snuggle bun!!
I never thought about buns liking hammocks, now I am wondering if Doria would. He does chew pillows, though more just little holes so it might work.

I agree with HipHop! I volunteer at a rescue, and we recommend 50 sq ft of exericise space, and you are only a tiny bit under that (plus your buns are pretty small), so I would say given the tough situation you are doing great. Adorable bunnies btw. 🙂
I think having 11 ft to run in one direction is really nice, so they can get up to full speed…[Read more]

I had this same issue with a previous pair, Bertha and Moose. I even tried an extra box… then they would pee next to it!
What finally worked was I cleaned the area with Nature’s Miracle Carpet shampoo and an oxygen-based cleaner (I blocked the area while it was drying). I realized the vinegar smell was building up in the area so I think they…[Read more]

I’d try blocking it off. It may put a stop to their obsession with the spot. I blocked off the sofa when my bun was obsessing about going up there to pee. When I unblocked itafter a few weeks, it was like he had forgotten all about it. At first he did try try to break through the blockage though, it took him a day or two to realize that it wasn’t…[Read more]

Sometimes, rabbits bite their cages when they want to get out. Exactly how big is the cage? Anything smaller than 16 square feet could be considered small.

When I look at that picture I see 2 very happy and healthy buns. 🙂 With plenty of room to binky and do zoomies, I might add! 😉
Please, don’t beat yourself up! They are living a very spoiled life, anyone could see that! They have a wonderful owner and a beautiful set-up. 😀 Your love for them is evident, and I’m sure they love you in turn. :…[Read more]

I’m not sure who started it (probably Pinky) but the two buns keep peeing in the same corner on my floor. I blocked off my vanity with an x pen cause I keep their pellets under there and they try to steal them. And Pinky has chewed the leg of my vanity trying to get them…
Muffin’s litter habits were great when he was in his own pen and only pee…[Read more]

AustinFK replied to the topic Mystery Illness – Vets are stumped in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 12 months ago
All came back normal so this is a real mystery. Heat seems to help him, he loves to cuddle and will jump up and lay on my chest, lay with his feet stretched out teeth purring and licking my face until he goes to sleep.
If it was a UTI would he strain all the time or just have periods of it?

Is there any plans to run a blood test or has there been one recently since this started? They can be helpful to generate other hypotheses, based on where you may/may not be seeing abnormalities.

Hehe @Moonlightbunny66 they are definitely hard to resist lol. Thanks for the bonding tips!
I’m going to be fostering another bun starting on the weekend, and likely bonding him with Esther so long as her health remains well. I’m planning on doing a lot of prebonding as well, both to help make it a smoother less stressful bond and to give mor…[Read more]

They can last between 20 mins to a couple of hours before he just goes back to normal.
He arches his back upwards and sometimes lifts his front paws and has yelped twice doing this.
I have been trying to get a video of it for the vet but he has stopped since this morning.

Can you describe what you mean by “straining” episodes?

Yeah, princedorian, I know you just have the one! 😆 Just shared some tips since you said we should. 🙂 With covid going on, it’s difficult to adopt eh? When I adopted Pinky and Muffin I didn’t get to come see them at the shelter, just photos and videos. But I love them both!
Are you still planning on a second bunny? They’re so hard to resist. …

It’s not uncommon that recovery from a bad bout of stasis is long and slow. It took more than a month for my bun to come back from stasis last fall. It was a very slow and nerve racking process, but definitely worth it.

Hi All,
I have a Dutch Yellow House Rabbit (Austin) who is 10 years old. Since Thursday 8th Oct we have noticed him straining then he started yelling at 1am. Of course we rushed him straight to the out of hours vet but they couldn’t find anything wrong and just gave him a pain injection. In the morning I took him to his usual vet who is a rabbit…[Read more]

Hi everyone,
I am new here and honestly just need opinions and someone to help. I have two almost 8 month old Holland Lop babies. They are sisters, from the same litter. I got them off craigslist actually. Lately I have felt like a bad owner to them. I have a feeling that I am just in my head, but I want opinions. When I first got them they were…[Read more]
