They can last between 20 mins to a couple of hours before he just goes back to normal.

He arches his back upwards and sometimes lifts his front paws and has yelped twice doing this.

I have been trying to get a video of it for the vet but he has stopped since this morning.

Can you describe what you mean by “straining” episodes?

Yeah, princedorian, I know you just have the one! 😆 Just shared some tips since you said we should. šŸ™‚ With covid going on, it’s difficult to adopt eh? When I adopted Pinky and Muffin I didn’t get to come see them at the shelter, just photos and videos. But I love them both!

Are you still planning on a second bunny? They’re so hard to resist. &#x1f…

It’s not uncommon that recovery from a bad bout of stasis is long and slow. It took more than a month for my bun to comeĀ  back from stasis last fall. It was a very slow and nerve racking process, but definitely worth it.

    Hi All,

I have a Dutch Yellow House Rabbit (Austin) who is 10 years old. Since Thursday 8th Oct we have noticed him straining then he started yelling at 1am. Of course we rushed him straight to the out of hours vet but they couldn’t find anything wrong and just gave him a pain injection. In the morning I took him to his usual vet who is a rabbit…[Read more]

    Hi everyone,

I am new here and honestly just need opinions and someone to help. I have two almost 8 month old Holland Lop babies. They are sisters, from the same litter. I got them off craigslist actually. Lately I have felt like a bad owner to them. I have a feeling that I am just in my head, but I want opinions. When I first got them they were…[Read more]

So dixie is free roam in the downstairs of my home. We just finished her wooden hutch for her to come and go as she pleases unless we are not home just as before with her tiny kennel style one. The new one we custom built is a mansion in comparison! It has 2 stories along with 5 rooms and a hiding/nesting room. The problem is she will not use the…[Read more]

It can take quite a bit of time for the gut to come back online (think of it as like jump starting a train). Keep pushing water, high fiber foods, any greens she will eat, and hay especially.

So glad to hear she has perked up and her attitude is coming back!

I’m just not thinking straight I’m expecting to find a heap of poops but of course there’s not been that much input, I wish I’d remembered dandelions would of helped because she’s eaten so many and giving me attitude when I offer her syringes full of water etc ☺️ I love her little attitude coming back. So when should I expect her to want to eat no…[Read more]

Hehe. Bet she’s glad you found one that fits her booty lol. That’s hilarious about Tator Tot lol. Poor guy!

Esther’s pretty chill but is definitely an ā€œall four paws on stable groundā€ kind of bun. Doesn’t stop her from trying to jump on things she shouldn’t and sinking in terror blaming me while I try to save her lol.

    Buns sure are something šŸ˜†

@Bu20055 I have a feeling if I put Tater Tot in there he would lose his mind. He jumps if my dog snores too loudly. Luckily Joey is a very chill rabbit and she loves things like this. I had a handmade hammock but it was just too small for her big booty.

Oh my gosh that’s adorable! Esther would probably jump up there, then realize it moved and freak out like ā€œmoooom! Why’d you do this to meeeeee? Nooooo! Stoopid human! I don’t want you to-ā€œ pauses in disgust- ā€œcarry-me- ā€ *jumps down in terror and runs away with some foot flicks for good measure*

    LOL

Good point. I will say that when I did the very long marathon (I think it was 8 hours), they seemed to be improving. My current 3 seem to respond similarly to car rides, which is good.

I would for sure have an extra carrier with me, just in case problems arose in the car.

Hm…. I honestly don’t know. I think you need to step back and just assess if stress-bonding has been worthwhile or not, based on what you know of the existing trio. I learned from Wick and Fable that stress bonding did not work, as Wick doesn’t stay stressed for very long and Fable stays in stress mode much too easily, so it didn’t really…[Read more]
