Thank you all for the replies!! He had a really horrible pile of poop (looked like a splat) a few days ago and it’s been a while since the last time that happened. He had that after his surgery and his poops would be perfect for a day after the bad pile, and then they would get bad again and it would be a whole cycle.
Right after his bad pile…[Read more]

Thanks! I think that’s what I’m going to do. They can still enjoy their time side-by-side for now and we’ll resume full bonding after the trip.

Yes I know isn’t poop I meant i had found with her poop but I thought she may have been pregnant from seeing the male bunnie mating with her and how she had been acting lately.

That’s not poop. From the pictures, it looks like it came from her uterus. You say you thought she may have been pregnant?

I also find that strange. I had to do nail trims at the vet for years and indeed she weighed and examined teeth and ears every single time but only charged me $20 per bun.
Is there someone besides your sister who you might be able to lean on for help?

Yes, they have several hides and tunnels. Erebus has an enclosure in his his enclosure that is private and separate and entirely his own that the cats are not allowed to go inside at all. There are also two small regular tunnels (one was originally a cat tunnel but one is brand new so they all got to play with it at once), one “donut” style tunnel…[Read more]

I re-read this part after seeing @pinkimarie’s comment: “Brick, being a cat, loves boxes. Last night, Brick chose to sit in a box and Erebus took this opportunity to get in Brick’s face. Brick raised a paw at him and kind of batted him gently and at first, Erebus backed off, but very quickly the whole thing escalated and soon Erebus was f…[Read more]

Your comment also made me wonder, does the bun have a box or something that be can actually hide in? Most cages and x pens are see through so if he doesn’t have something to hide in he would definitely appreciate getting something, even something simple like a cardboard box.

@pinkiemarie Ideally cecotropes if you can get em! The reasoning was if the bun already lived with other buns it would have already been exposed to any parasites they might have, so it’s pretty safe to try. Another vet I had reasoned that they also would have already been exposed to the healthy bun’s gut flora, but I still think it could be worth…[Read more]

Thank you for reading it at all! Any input is welcome, so that is good to know! I forgot mention all of the animals in my house are fixed for whatever gender they are as well and are well past the age of maturity, so I don’t think it’s that either.
The cats do have a cat safe room, two actually if you count the room where their boxes are and also…[Read more]

@benjaminbinky I have a bun with terrible dysboisis, almost everything gives him icky poos. I feed him a timothy pellet by Exotic Nutrition with literally only timothy hay as the only ingredient. It isn’t 100% ideal because there is nothing else in it to ensure proper micronutrients but I wonder if adding that to his diet might help. For my bun it…[Read more]

2 of my rabbits also charge my cats. I think that’s pretty normal and most likely they do it because they can sense that the cat is a predator and they’re letting the cat know that they don’t want to be prey. I could be wrong on the reasons but I’ve seen that behavior myself many times. A long as the cat does not turn to attack the bunny it should…[Read more]

I found this is my 6 month old female holland lop litter she pooped them out and seemed fine she went on about her day happy and jumpy but the fact these were even in her litter scares me because I have no idea what these bloody things are we had an idea she got pregnant with the male bunny she is free roamed with but obviously this is not the…[Read more] -

I’m going to admit that I didn’t read your whole post thoroughly, but I will say this isn’t uncommon! In many cases buns are the “boss” of the house cats.
My newest bun actually will charge our cats as well, even though they are not even interacting with him. It has gotten better over time though (we adopted the new bun about 4 months…[Read more]

If they aren’t bonded then it likely won’t stress them out, even if they have been living side by side. So I think it would be safe to proceed with the plan to move them next to each other as neighbors.
The only thing that could be a little tough to judge would be what to do if they are very newly bonded, or almost bonded. In that case you…[Read more]

Bam, thank you so much for the reply,
I see that makes sense, I’ve seen cecatropes for him and I think he’s using his tray but I’m not entirely sure as he’s bonded to two other bunnies, hopefully he is I’m going to try and see if he uses the tray before the others and keep my eye on it, luckily the simethecone on its own seems to be helping a…[Read more] -

Emeprid is a gut motility drug. It’s not considered safe to give unless you’re an obstruction has been ruled out. Is he pooping?
What you’ve done so far sounds very good. Try to make him move around a bit, exercise helps gut motility. Hopefully this is “just” a bout of gas and he might feel a lot better if he can pass gas.
Make sure he’s kept…[Read more]

I’m bonding two rabbits, and progress has been really slow so far. They’re able to interact calmly through a barrier, but not face-to-face yet. Their home pens are currently in separate rooms. I’d like to move them into the same room (separate pens) 24 hours a day to get more used to one another.
In about five weeks I’m going out of town. I…[Read more]
