Some of my buns will tolerate grooming, but with the others I do end up putting them on a table on a towel or my lap to get the job done. I think a deep thorough grooming less frequently is less stressful overall than constantly pestering them. I definitely give a treat after!

Is your bunny very food motivated? There might be ways to help him…[Read more]

Do you have trouble with him chewing floorboards? If not if you can set him up in the corner with the dog pen in a wide v, that’ll give him more space. In other words, have it make a big square in the corner of a room, but don’t have any of the panels against the wall. I’m not sure if that makes sense, hopefully you understand. I’ll look for a p…[Read more]

Hi, I have a 7 month old holland lop buck named Cotton :)) He is very sweet. However, he doesn’t use his litter box as I’ve explained in a post before. So, he has a kind-of refined area. It’s a medium-sized dog exercise pen and a dog crate attached to one another. The dog crate’s door stays open all the time unless I’m cleaning it. We also have a…[Read more]

    Hi

I have a 7 month English Angora, and he absolutely detests getting brushed… I want to groom him but he keeps hopping away. I manage to get some of his top and ears when he is eating. However he kicks and fusses when I pick him up to do try and brush his underside….

I saw that some people recommended to sit on a high stool and put the…[Read more]

For angora rabbits I know some people shave them to keep the fur more under control and from matting, if a cashmere rabbit is like that with really long fur that may be an option?

Is it normal for him to be peeing so much as well? A few hours ago, I was doing schoolwork while he was roaming the room, and I looked up to see that he peed against the door, against a box, and inside his carrier. I cleaned his litterbox 15 minutes ago and he already peed in it twice.

For the past few days I’ve been cleaning his litterbox twice…[Read more]

I have younger family members who would come over and enjoy seeing the bunnies, but I made sure to clarify they aren’t to be picked up, chased, or pestered. Louie and Lola tolerate gentle petting so I’m ok letting my younger cousins pet them and feed them little leaves of lettuce and such. I would just make sure some boundaries are set. 🙂

Yes, you can remove the soft things. Many bunnies seem to prefer a hard floor to lay on anyway.

Bunnies can be odd sometimes, it almost sounds like she has a bit of pica, when animals consume soil, clay, or other non-food things.

My guess is that her tummy hurts, so perhaps she was instinctively seeking out something to sooth it? On of my rabbits would very aggressively rip up cardboard when his tummy was upset.

I’m not sure about the…[Read more]

    PIPPIN UPDATE…..

Its been a strange day with Pip, we’ve done the cc, water, meds etc throughout the day but there just wasn’t much change in her at all. No moving about. I have a workman coming to do some repairs in the kitchen so thought I’d take Pip down with me as it’s a big room and she might move about a bit, well she did quiet a bit but…[Read more]

I got my new rabbit a week ago and so far everything’s been great, except for the peeing. He’s gotten a lot better at peeing in the litterbox, but sometimes I’ll find pee stains on the rug by my desk or on my sister’s stuffed animals. I took those things out of his room, so those pee problems have been fixed (hopefully). Except earlier today he…[Read more]

    😆 They have character!

Things have been going pretty well! I’ve been feeding everyone dinner together, where I’ll just scatter it outside and they get to find it. Sometimes I’ll do breakfast too! 😀 I heard that was a trick to strengthen bonds, hopefully, it helps! 🙂

This weird thing happened today, I left the room briefly while they were…[Read more]

Neutering should help. Can you also describe his set-up a bit more or post some pics?

Restricting the space can help get litter box habits in order (which you’ll have to do after his neuter anyway). Some buns also can’t have any soft things or mats around during training as they get confused. One of my buns would pee and poop anywhere there was…[Read more]

I always like to mention that there are times that even neutered rabbits will be non-litterbox adherent, dig, chew, etc.. Many of these are natural, rabbit-things to do that are often exacerbated by hormones, so neutering can reduce it, but there are rabbits (like my Wick) who still poop and pee pretty… liberally outside the box. He also still…[Read more]
