It’s been years since written in this forum, but I have looked at posts. Right now I am quite upset and this may be a bit long. We lost our 6 1/2 year old bunny Buddy on Labor Day weekend. Buddy had been prone to GI Stasis and we nursed him through multiple bouts. We thought he was starting another bought of stasis and called vet. She prescribed…[Read more]

Bun Jovi will poop in his sleep too, if I knew how to help with that I would tell you! I usually just pick them up and throw them in the box twice a day. It doesn’t really bother me since it helps me make sure his poops look good (with a bonded pair it can be hard to tell).
It almost looks like they have extra cecal material mixed in, maybe even…[Read more]

An ER vet may be able to prescribe pain meds, even if they aren’t rabbit specialists. Metacam is the most common pain med for rabbits.
I’m glad he is eating and pooping ok. Hoping you can get him in to the vet first thing tomorrow. Often rabbit vets will make time in their schedule for serious illness, so if you call around and they say they…[Read more]

I’m pretty sure that all of the light ones are Muffin and all of the really dark ones are Pinky. The cardboard photo is older, but I was trying to compare it to my thumb nail which doesn’t really work because I have very small hands… Maybe I’ll use a quarter next time.

Young rabbits can sometimes thump out of some type of lust for life. It’s like they are playing out their whole repertoire of expression. So thumping doesn’t have to mean the rabbit is scared, much like a binky doesnt have to mean the rabbit is happy. Like so many of rabbit behaviors, it needs to be interpreted in context.
Some rabbits also…[Read more]

I’ll see if I can upload some pics. I’m not sure if he’s too lazy or can’t control it. I’ll just see him sleeping and suddenly there’s a pile of poops behind his butt. Muffin’s poops have almost all been normal, just change from dark and light depending on the type of hay I feed them. His are pretty much all the same size and shape though, norma…[Read more]

Do you think you could include some pictures? When you say he poops in his sleep do you mean he can’t control it, or he’s to lazy to get up and go to the box? Does he have any normal poops or are they all like that? Has Muffin ever had any of these poops or are his poops normal? If Muffin’s poops are normal I wouldn’t think anything diet related…[Read more]

Blaze doesn’t seem to be doing much when she nips him, just runs away then comes running back. I’m betting on same day for our bonds lol 😉 .
I definitely won’t do any full on cage swapping yet, but maybe if I gave Blaze’s somewhat dirty box to Esther and gave him her cleaned out box, that could start working on Esther’s end.
I’l…[Read more]

Pinky has always had poop that was dark and softer than Muffin’s. But it seems to be getting more soft and wet?
He poops in his sleep and his fave sleeping spot is right beside the litter box. So I’ve been having to clean up piles of poop everyday and putting them in the litter box. He still doesn’t seem to learn. They also pee in different spots…[Read more]

So new bun Blaze got some out time today and is zooming and binkying around like a mad fool. The thing that I’m curious about though is that he thumps as he zooms! What does that mean?

I think lil Blaze can only reach barely a little more than a foot, but I think Esther could possibly reach a little less than 2 feet. I was thinking about covering it with something, but im not sure what, because Esther does like to chew

Ouch! Okay then, our bonds just might finish on the same day! 😆 Don’t worry though, yours will probably still finish a good day or two before mine. I’m not going to push my luck now! 😆
Esther’s being a bad girl I see! Hmmm, and Blaze isn’t retaliating, and is just completely fine with it? What almost turned me around, was the Stunt…[Read more]

Bam I managed to weigh her the way I always weighed my buns ( it just came back to me whilst lay there thinking about it all) I weighed myself then again whilst holding her, she is now 1.6 kg so I’m going to follow what you were doing with your bun. Today she seemed a little bit more interested in her favourite herbs and nibbled at them. She’s not…[Read more]

Maybe cover the edges with something, and probably as high as the bunnies can reach their noses lol. When they stand up they can be surprisingly tall.

Aw I’m sorry this is happening. Are you able to get him to a vet soon? I don’t know how to relieve pain in rabbits other than meds. I would just make sure he is still eating, drinking, and pooping while waiting to get into the vet.
My bunny Muffin had a rash with a bump and scabs around his mouth a few weeks ago. He was still eating and dri…[Read more]

Okay thanks. How do I make the edges of the mesh not sharp? How high up on the pen do you think I should cover?

I’m putting this here because I think it’s the best spot for it but I’m not actually bonding the buns as of yet. So it’s day 2 with Blaze, and Esther is being very territorial through the bars. I’m working on getting something up so she can’t nip through his pen. He doesn’t seem fazed by her attempted nips, and keeps coming back to try to sniff…[Read more]
