Maybe cover the edges with something, and probably as high as the bunnies can reach their noses lol. When they stand up they can be surprisingly tall.

Aw I’m sorry this is happening. Are you able to get him to a vet soon? I don’t know how to relieve pain in rabbits other than meds. I would just make sure he is still eating, drinking, and pooping while waiting to get into the vet.

You have the same dose metoclopramide as I got for my bun. I was told to give it every 6-8 hours. (I gave him 0.75 ml of a solution made of 1/4 of a 10 mg pill, dissolved in 2.5 ml water. That means 0.75 mg metoclopramide for a 1.5 kg bun = 0.5 mg/kg.)

It looks like it could be an abscess. Swelling of the face could make it hard to see his teeth.

Is he eating and pooping OK? Showing any signs of pain? The main thing will be just to make sure he is getting food into him so he doesn’t go into stasis until you can get him to the vet. You should get him to the vet ASAP, but I realize with it being…[Read more]
