Will she stand up for a treat? Perhaps you can get a look with a mirror that way.

I agree, most here will not recommend a harness. A supervised exercise pen is much safer.

For the sake of argument though – If you’re worried about how the harness fits (too loose vs. too tight), perhaps you should be looking at a different style.

As long as it’s kept dry, it’s fine. Most people just keep it in a container in a cool, dry place.

Yes, definitely interesting… but may not be satisfying. LOL

@Dana you’re probably right. We’ll see if they’ll even agree to a phone call! At this point I’ve pretty much decided to take him elsewhere, so if they don’t want to talk, doesn’t really matter. :p

You’re brave! It would be nice to hear their response…. but I have a suspicion it won’t be satisfying!

As long as it’s been kept dry it should be fine. You can also look for moldy or musty looking areas which you would likely be able to smell. Do you live in a very humid climate?

    Hi binky community!

So I previously fostered a bun named Snowball for a few months, and at the beginning of October, he had GI stasis and then was unexpectedly adopted from the shelter.  After this past month of thinking about, I decided to foster another bun from the shelter 🙂

Right before Snowball got adopted, I was given by the shelter and…[Read more]

    Hey folks,

Thanks for all the advice & ideas.

I’m going to speak to Expensive Vet on the phone and tell them frankly that I’m going with a perfectly well qualified and cheaper option unless they have some reason I shouldn’t do that, or unless they would like to quote me a lower price and keep my business. I was going to just do this witho…[Read more]

Harnesses can be very dangerous for rabbits, so most of us here do not recommend them. If the rabbit panics and struggles, they can easily injure themselves or escape.

For giving time outdoors, it is safer to use an exercise pen and allow your rabbit to explore a bit that way.

Oh I see, how long have you had her? Was the illness before or after her spay?

As a nice primer, this video shows some techniques for handling and picking up:

I agree with what the others said. As long as he recovers well from his filings and does well in between them I don’t see any reason to stop the treatments.

Oh thank you! Okay I will try that this evening with my husband. I just rescued her from a family member that suddenly became very ill. Trying to figure out how to get her comfortable with me to pick her up but one time I tried she jumped out of my arms immediately and broke her nail. I will try your technique though. Thanks again 🐰

So thankful for the bunnies these days. Who needs therapy when you can pet bunnies?

Our move is up in the air again… going to sit tight for a few more weeks at least. Should be getting an update on Norway in the next few weeks. A friend also tested positive for covid so currently isolating. Was going to try for my trio again this weekend but…[Read more]

    Hi Wick

thank you so much your reply was very good and informative I’m seeing the other rabbit savvy vet tomorrow she comes highly recommended for rabbits. My rabbit is fully of life despite his age plus he’s now on metacam which has made a difference for him I think. I will update you all tomorrow.
