Ha, possibly! That or he wants him to guard them? The elephant is his best friends, though they have had squabbles.
@Moonlightbunny66 I just realized you never posted any photographic proof… I need to see Pinky in action!!

Yup, just gotta ride out the post neuter hormone craze. ๐
I wouldn’t allow him to hump anything, or run and jump, he might aggravate the wound. It’s best to keep them confined for at least a week.

I’m sorry he’s feeling poorly. ๐
How much of the gas drops are you giving him? He can have 1 ml every hour for a couple of doses and then 1 ml every three hours (Simethicone doesn’t get absorbed by the body so there’s no danger of overdosing). Also I wouldn’t feed him the gatorade mixture, that has tons of sugar in it and is likely to make his…[Read more]

Maybe temporarily to see if it helps? If it doesn’t help to remove it then you could prob put it back.
One other thought crossed my mind. Forum moderator Wick’s bunny will completely lose his box habits when he needs a tooth trim. Something about being in pain just makes him very lazy about going to his box. So it might be worth doing a thorough…[Read more]

This is totally normal after a neuter. Their hormones increase for 4-6 ish weeks after, before going away. Give it some time, and heโll settle down.

Hi All! We just had our 6.5 month old lop neutered. ย It has been three days since his surgery and he seems WAY more hormonal, trying to mount our legs and honking and really agitated. ย He is more persistent than he ever tay before the surgery. Is this something anyone has experienced before?
Thank you!

Thank you Dana ๐ I’ll take her to the vet as soon as I can. Hope we can manage any discomfort she might have…
I’ll buy the Oxbow joint support in my next online order, but I’ll have to do some research on softer litters, since here in Spain we don’t have Carefresh ๐
She does have more shallow litter boxes in the room and around the house,…[Read more]

Hmmm that does sound like a touch of arthritis. You might ask your vet about a low dose of daily metacam going forward (it could also be a trial to see if it helps). Does she have additional boxes in the room?
Maybe switching litters would make it more enticing?
Your description of her slowing down and stiffness do sound like arthritis. I used…[Read more]

It didn’t occur to me that it could be arthritis, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she had it because I’ve noticed her hind legs are a little bit stiff and she’s rather lazy and clumsy. She doesn’t seem to have any problem jumping in and out of the litter box or cage though (when she feels like it).
My cage set-up is very simple. In one side…[Read more]

And here is a recent picture of Chester’s condo (figured out pictures! Woo! Thanks technical thread!).
Tried to get a view where you could see the grid underneath.

Inserting isn’t working because I am terrible at technology but there’s some pics/a video.
We also have carpet so I put some scrap vinyl down under/in front of the doors so hay is easier to sweep.

DanaNM replied to the topic EMERGENCY: Not eating! in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 9 months ago
Can you take his temperature? In addition to fluids and syringe feeding, keeping him warm if he’s cold would be the other supportive care to give until you can get him to the vet. I would focus on fluids (but nothing with a lot of sugar as that can further upset the gut)
If the ER vet sees rabbits, that would be the best bet. If they don’t see…[Read more]

Hello, my baby is not eating or drinking (or pooping or peeing, either) and it might possibly have been 12 hours or more since he ate anything.
I gave him a bunch of hay last night around 3-3:30 Am and it was (mostly ) gone by 1-2:00 pm the next day.
Now the hay was brown and it smelled weird, it was a new Pack of Timothy Hay from the store…[Read more]
