Hmmmm, I do wonder if he would still mount while the car was running (it might be worth a shot, since they don’t fight). If you have someone else drive you can prevent him from mounting at first. You might also try on top of a washing machine while it’s running.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I’m going to monitor him in the next month preceding his neuter, and we’ll hold off on the x-ray unless things get unexpectedly worse. Hopefully everything will be fine though.

Rabbits don’t form true bonds with other animals, so another rabbit would be the best choice.

Some rabbits (very rarely) don’t get along with other rabbits, so they might enjoy the companionship of a gentle cat, but it wouldn’t be a true bond really.

I’ll just add that young bunnies should be getting a larger amount of alfalfa pellets. You can allow him to free-feed (unlimited), especially because he’s so thin. Yeah, it looks like a callus to me. What ointment did the vet give you? An OTC cream like Bag Balm may work just as well. I guess it depends on how expensive the stuff your vet prescribed is.
