As long as her appetite is normal (which is sounds like it is), she’s acting normal, and she is producing a good amount of poops, I wouldn’t worry just yet. Some bunnies poop size will vary a bit throughout the day (they will get smaller if they haven’t eaten much hay recently). She is a very new bun for you so it’s good you are being vigilant…[Read more]

Hi everybody!
I got a new foster bun about a week ago named Hawaii. She’s quite shy so I haven’t even pet her yet (or groomed her unfortunately because she’s so scared…) but she seems to be slowly warming up to her foster home 🙂
Last night, I noticed Hawaii seemed to be making slightly less poops in my litter box and I didn’t really see her…[Read more]

Hmm, I tried both uploading as my profile ( which worked) but did not go into my photo library as well as resizing/changing the file name to a shorter one but no luck. Anywho, the image on my profile now.. is what his cheeks/mouth is looking like if your able to see it.
Thank you

Bam replied to the topic Myxo- RHD Vaccine side effects in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 10 months ago
I dont think the side effects are very common. The most common one is a sore at the injection site (a low grade fever is the other most common side effect, but since we rarely take our buns temp, this side effect probably largely goes unnoticed by the human).
My rabbits have been vaccinated with the myxo-rhd vaccin many times. I havent seen any…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Neutered but still not using litter box in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 10 months ago
How big is his free-roam area? If it’s more than one room he prob needs a box in each room. It can also help to restrict the space temporarily (to maybe an x-pen size area most of the time with exercise periods of a larger space) and basically start from scratch with litter training. Then you can gradually increase the space and see how he…[Read more]

Hello! our little guy uses his litter box but also other spots in the house. We had him neutered about a month ago. We had hoped this was territorial and he would start just using his litter box after his neuter, but that is not the case! Any suggestions?? Our last rabbit was box trained after a week! Would love your insights. Thank you!

My bunny got the Nobivac Myxo-Rhd vaccine a little over a week ago. A couple days ago I noticed a red swollen spot on his upper eye lid. Today I noticed a red spot on his nose. He is acting like himself though, eating, drinking etc. Has anyone else’s bunny had these types of side effects from the vaccine? How long did it take for them to go…[Read more]

Awesome, I’m so glad it went well! 🙂
I don’t blame BJ for spraying him, he needs to know his place. 😆
Did you get any pictures?

Agree with the others. He should get a lot better after being neutered. As Dana said, punishment doesn’t work with them, and attempting to assert yourself as “top bun” won’t help because as a human you’re not part of the bunny hierarchy. And even if you were, rabbits assert their dominance via humping and pee/poop wars, I don’t think you would…[Read more]

Awww cute! Thanks guys 😀 I usually just see half binkies from Muffin too! He’s about 5 years old. Pinky is a little under two years old but that was a rare sight from him!

One more thing you can do is make sure he has interesting textured bunny toys. I would give my bunnies a toy when they were clearly in a destructive mood, and they decided they liked those better than the furniture. But that wouldn’t take the place of neutering, though.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. The funny thing about Polly was that she always was a bit delicate health-wise, but she was always bouncing off the walls energetic and playful. I think she packed in a lot of happiness while she lived. I’m trying to keep thinking of the good times.
DJ Cute was with her in the hospital (as a healthy co…[Read more]

I would assume him being unfixed has a lot to do with it. Neutering him would most likely help with a lot of behaviors as many destructive and territorial behaviors (such as the peeing and pooping around) are caused by hormones. If you cannot get him neutered you may need to restrict his access to certain areas and/or do some extra bunny-proofing.
