Oh, I’m so sorry you are going through this. 😥Â
As you, Bam, and Dana have all said, 12 years is a good long life for a bun. 🙂 12 years of which I’m sure you granted Francis a beautiful life. 🙂Â
They are our dearest companions, which makes it hard to accept the unacceptable. Yet, a lot of us make the mistake of thinking that when it h…[Read more]

I’m so sorry for what you are going through. It’s so hard with seniors, as you are just constantly worried about losing them, but then it is also a gift to be able to care for them in their golden years.
I just moved with 4 rabbits, including my 12 year old (Bun Jovi), so I understand how stressful it all can be! I lost my senior girl Bertha last…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic How to waste less hay and feed rabbits enough? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 9 months ago
Some hay waste is unavoidable with bunnies, but they are pretty good at finding the pieces they haven’t peed on yet. I find mine also eat way more of what’s in the box vs. the rack. I could give it to them only in the rack… but I want them to eat as much hay as possible so I don’t mind some waste. For that reason it’s important for me personally…[Read more]

I am very sorry that you are going through this. 12 years is, as you know, an awesome age for a bun.
It is very hard to lose a pet. They are part of our families and they are our very close friends. They bring us so much joy and love, which is why it hurts so bad when they leave us.
Do talk to us here. You can cry with us too 💜

I adopted a bonded rabbit pair on saturday and have been trying to see what works best for them care-wise. They have a litter box that hay goes in, but no matter how i put the litter and hay, they sit on the hat and poop all over it, so I can’t tell which is soiled and which hay is not. I don’t want to be throwing out so much hay. So I made a hay…[Read more]

I don’t usually do this, I’m the type of person to deal with emotions internally instead of seeking help.
But I believe my best friend for the last 10 years is dying and I have no one I feel comfortable with leaning on right now for support.
Francis is a 12 year old mini lop bunny-lad who has been by my side for my entire adult life. He has…[Read more]

Well, it’s been a very eventful day. Around mid afternoon Bun Jovi seemed a bit uncomfortable and had some weird shaped poops. Gave him some greens and water and then he snapped out of it, but then started trying to mount OBSESSIVELY for hours. Like, really extreme, and constantly chasing poor Myra, which was then stirring up everyone else. To the…[Read more]

I agree with Bam. I’m sure they haven’t done irreversible harm. Try some healthier treats and see what happens. I know Oxbow banana treats are quite popular. They are pretty much bunny crack. You don’t want to go overboard, but small amounts of fruit is healthier than yogurt drops for sure.
