If you cannot spay/neuter the rabbits, they will need to be separated. As a general note, talking about intentional breeding is prohibited on these forums, so if that is something you are considering, we ask that you do not discuss that on this forum.

Do you have the means and space to house them separately? It is not unheard of for people to…[Read more]

Well I’m hitting pause up on the quad for now. The fighting between the boys is just too vicious and I’m worried someone will get hurt (they are biting HARD). Funny, I had thought the girls would be the problem but they are actually doing alright. I have never been bitten so many times during bonding than with these boys (wearing gloves now but…[Read more]

Thanks for the reply, i have removed all the cardboard and paper but sometimes she finds some that got left (she freeroms the house when home) dw she eats plenty of hay and poops a lot, she has a large litter tray she goes in to with the hay. Thank you for the suggestions! ill look into finding these and hopefully she will enjoy it ^^

    How old are they?

If the female is older than 12 weeks, it’s very likely that they mated and she is pregnant.

Its not safe if a rabbit ingests too much cardboard and paper. It 8s cellulose, but its not proper food. A rabbit should eat lots of hay, if she fills up on cardboard and paper, she will probably not eat enogh hay. Hay is important for both the teeth and the GI function – as I’m sure you know.

Twigs from pesticide free apple or willow or other…[Read more]

    Hiya!
Not sure if this is in the right area but my female rabbit loves boxes and paper, she loves to chew on it but i never find chewed up bits and im scared she might be eating it. I was wondering if anyone knows of what other things i can give for her to chew and play with or if its safe for her to chew and maybe eat?

    Thank you!

Hello! I need help with my situation.

I haven’t had my male rabbit neutered yet because in my country, not many people have rabbits as pets and I’m still looking for a vet that I can trust. I have recently taken in a female rabbit from a friend that couldn’t handle her. I was scared that my male rabbit might fight her so I enclosed him in a…[Read more]

Lemony started the topic Could digging mats cause sore hocks? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 8 months ago

My rabbit eats blankets whenever he’s in his hidey area, something about being protected just makes him dig and gnaw like crazy. So I put a digging/grass mat in there and now he’s loafed on it several hours a day. I haven’t seen sore hocks on him, just want to make sure as it’s kind of rougher material and he’s usually on blankets and carpets all…[Read more]

My bunnies don’t like eating hay out of a rack either but now when they hear me going to the hay they stand up and beg and I’m expected to hold it in the air so they can pick the best pieces. Bunnies are silly.

Anyhow our local farm supply store sells compressed bales of Timothy hay for about $17 for 50 lbs. It can be dusty but it’s cheap so…[Read more]

I feed yogurt drops to my bunny once in a while and only one or two at a time. Bunnies should not have too much dairy as it can cause digestive problems but a little treat once in a while wont hurt them!

This has happened to my bunny, too! I have noticed that this happens when he eats too many carrots, bell peppers, and other naturally pigmented fruits and veggies! Nothing to worry about, make sure that there is no blood and cut down his intake of those pigmented foods a little, he can still eat them but a just little less!

Hi so I have had my bunny Flopsie for just over a year up until now he has been enjoying a wood woven basket as a toy. He has chewed that down to the wiring! I’m not sure what kind of toys I should buy or make! I would definitely love to be able to DIY make him toys rather than buying them. I would like to know if there is anything to look out for…[Read more]

This has happened with my bunny too. He seems fine, but if you think there could be a problem or if he starts acting weird then contact a vet. I have noticed that whenever bunny, Flopsie, gets mad a me he thumps his back feet and runs a few feet away from me. I think that it means that he might be mad or annoyed.

I have a 5 and a half year old rabbit, and we’ve been dealing with GI stasis for a week now. When we first went to the vet last week Tue, she got a metacam injection, metoclopramide injection and SQ fluids. I was given oral metacam and cisapride to give her at home, as well as critical care to syringe feed her.

She is only nibbling here and there…[Read more]
