They were love at first sight easy. I’m currently working a 3rd rabbit into the mix and it’s much harder with her. It just depends on the specific animals. But it can be done!

That’s a tough one!  First of all, others may disagree, but I personally don’t think it’s such a priority to groom her, especially if she’s so skittish.  I rarely groom, and just do the petting/picking thing you mentioned.

It seems like the biggest thing is just building trust right now.  I would not suggest picking her up in her litterbox — sh…[Read more]

Hello, thank you for all your advice and helpful info! Sorry it took so long to respond, life has been hectic. Since it’s been around a month since my last update, I regrettably have to say his behaviour is even worse! It’s been almost two months since his neutering, and his humping is at its worst. Before I could have them together and even…[Read more]

We’ve gone a few weeks now without many problems. Occasional sneeze here and there, occasional bit of runny nose. Then days of no sneezes, dry nose, no problems. Two days ago she had her first sneezing fit in weeks. Blew thick white snot out of both nostrils and over her face. Yesterday not even the tiniest sneeze or sniffle. This morning while o…[Read more]

Thanks! It’s good to know there are many people with bonded males. Did yours take long time? Were there problems?

He could also be exposing his scent glands more because he’s on a date. My new boy Cooper is REALLY stinky when he’s showing off for Bun Jovi, but then it goes away when he’s just relaxing.

Neutral territory is really important, so you can try disguising the area a bit more. I would go back to the last set-up where things were going well and spend more time in that enclosure before moving on to the next step. Once you start seeing positive behaviors you want to really let those behaviors cement before moving them or changing things around.

I hope these photos are OK, I’m on my tablet. Anyway here’s some Christmas gifts I made for the buns! Within the first minute of giving it to them Blossom opened the bottom of the bag. Such a silly bun!

Thanks for getting back to me Wick.  Unfortunately our bathroom is way too small, and also is not neutral as the 1st bunny has been in there.  Below are the responses. I like what you did to cover the wall. So we are going to move them into the ex-pen and covered the sides with blankets that I laundered and then sprayed with febreeze so they d…[Read more]

I agree, cecotropes do smell strongly! I smell my bun’s cecos when he’s eating them. Its an unmistakeable, pungent and “green”  smell.

Thank you! I ended up going for it and he’s being very good today and overall they’re having a lot more cuddle time than normal.

Well, this is happening on dates. I’m bonding him and his bonded mate with a 3rd rabbit. I’m in the pen with them and I’m just getting whiffs while he’s eating them, but the other rabbits have eaten them while I’m here and I wasn’t getting the smell. It’s possible his just smell more strongly or he doesn’t eat as fast or something. Hay does make…[Read more]

It would be helpful to get some more information about the rabbits themselves. While structurally there are steps to consider in bonding, rabbit personality can also impact recommendations, like how much to involve yourself and such. We have a bonding template here you can copy and paste with: https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/bonding-template-re…[Read more]
