@noodletherabbit Thanks! Happy holidays to you too! I don’t think he’s been having energy loss, they’ve both been more sleepy lately since it’s cold though. But today he was running around, jumping onto a box and chewing it. So I think he’s feeling good today.

I don’t think I was doing anything differently before. He had more variety of veggies…[Read more]

Hi! Happy new year! My bunny jack is so picky and I have been spending so much money on toys lately and I need some other options. He is obsessed with the oxbow essentials timothy stuff, and he normally likes hay cubes and apple sticks but since those were the only toys he’s liked for the past few months he’s sick of them. He doesn’t like any…[Read more]

Sometimes in those more frightened state, I found the nose-boop effective because it can sometimes snap the rabbit out of their frightened state. It doesn’t work every time, but you can try it. If there’s a favorite toy or something he likes, it might be helpful to bring that to him during those times too to help snap him out of it.

I have actually! There are times where he gets nervous and I’ll say “Fresno maaaaan” in a higher pitched voice too and it calms him back down. But when he has his like… absolute freak-out fits, they’re so sudden that I have no time to calm him before it happens, and I can’t calm him once he’s in the mindset either. It’s quite the anomaly lol.

Mine have a nightlight too! Have you tried the verbal/physical reassurance thing yet with the safety boops? All of my rabbits know their names so you could actually teach him his name and use it as reassurance. I taught mine by repeating their name while I petted them, always in the same kind of high pitched tone of voice. I did it individually so…[Read more]

<p style=”padding-left: 40px;”>Splitting the day can be a pain but I think they like it more. I know my rabbits get very excited when it’s their turn to go play in the rest of the house even though they have a good 20 sq ft when they’re at home. I didn’t see you mention how high the barrier is but I’ve had good luck with a 36 inch dog play pen…[Read more]

There’s really no way of knowing if they even attempted to mate and I’m crossing my fingers that it didn’t even happen! Honestly I opened this feeling mortified that someone was going to be seriously injured. I have an itty bitty polish too and he broke into my 7 lb rabbit’s play area when I was not home and my boyfriend was in the other room. He…[Read more]

So lately Starlight has been snubbing me it seems. She gets up and hops away to the other side of her pen or room if i go to snuggle or pet her, doesn’t seem to want anything to do with me. I did notice she LOVES my boyfriend, she’ll lay down with him and groom him for 20 min straight and snuggle. What did I do to make her snub me? I know its…[Read more]

If he is getting baby pellets, I assume that means they are alfalfa-based. You could try cutting out the alfalfa in the hay mix and just stick with grass hay. If he’s getting alfalfa-based pellets, that should be enough.

Update: I’ve been giving Fresno lavender and chamomile in his pellets for almost 2 weeks and unfortunately they haven’t helped to relax him. I guess all I can do is hope that he’ll settle down more with time. And LOL LBJ, good to know it’s not just mine that seem scared of the dark! 😂

Perhaps she was just seemed more energetic because she was in the new place. Then she calmed down a bit and is now at her baseline? It does sound like she is more mellow and perhaps her wool makes her a bit too warm.

JG has a good point. I would be more concerned with swollen genitals. If the sac is somewhat swollen, it isn’t the end of the world. They can fill with fluid a bit. Just as long as they aren’t like golf balls or something. Are you worried about the dried blood? It looks like it’s been there awhile.

Rabbits are masters at not doing something… until they do. 😉

I’m going with the others on this. I think your chances are good that it will be OK. But definitely keep an eye just in case.

Thank you all so much for your help🥺 You’ve all made me feel a bit more relieved. I’m going to weigh Jasmine now and give it a week. Supposedly rabbits gain approximately 0.056 pounds during their first week of pregnancy. I think everything is probably okay? Unfortunately the rabbit vets in my area are inexperienced at best and irresponsible at…[Read more]

I agree a vet consultation is needed. I realise it is awful timing with it being New Years and with pandemic restrictions. Perhaps share photo with them first, as suggested?

It is not unusual for the sac to swell with fluid post-neuter. Had you noticed that initially or is that only evident now? Or is it the blood that is concerning you…[Read more]

I’ve had my bonded pair of buns for a month now and sometimes one of them (Persephone) lets me pet her, but other times she’ll grunt and smack my hand with her paws. I think it’s her way of telling me “no pets right now” but it’s like, idk, startling to me and I’m very rejectjon sensitive. So should I just accept this behavior or is it something I…[Read more]

Ok great! 🙂 It’s normal for babies to have some extra cecotropes but just wanted to double check. Sometimes new bunny owners get very excited and overdo it on the treats 😉
