Wick poor bunny was really going through it! 🙁 Thanks for the info, makes me feel a bit more confident.
LBJ10 Thank you. I’m looking at some photos of rabbit syphilis and other things, some similar to Muffins but not much diagnosed and cleared. I hope these tests will give us something we can treat and he won’t have to go through this anymore. ):

Did they get him to hunt with or was he supposed to be just a pet? Has he shown a particular interest in the buns? Otis is very good with Oscar, he doesn’t look at him as something to “hunt” but as I said, he really doesn’t seem to have much of a hunting instinct to begin with. 😆

I agree, I believe mine both think they are dominate and it seems to get more level over time. I recently moved us all and they got some new furniture so seem really happy. Once I’m more settled I plan to start fostering buns too.
I attached recent pics and plan to keep in touch via the lounge probably on the site!

That’s great to know, some of them are a bit tricky now. We’ve done another successful round, this time another 10 mls in him. As he’s eating reasonably well I think 10mls x 4 per day will be sufficient. The vet had said if he wasn’t eating the daily dose was 70mls. Obviously I don’t want to fill him up on CC so he doesn’t bother eating hay.…[Read more]

The bigger pieces are “crumbs”. What’s in the bottom is hay dust. It’s really fine.

Wenny replied to the topic Are adult pellets ok for young rabbits? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 8 months ago
Yep, I bought some grass hay today and I added it into Charlie’s stack of alfalfa hay, although he doesn’t seem to like it a lot. I mean, the hay smells nice and sweet but I guess alfalfa just tastes better lol

Ok, thank you so much!! Also, I searched thoroughly today at the pet store and did actually find alfalfa pellets! I’m thinking of transitioning him (over the course of a few weeks) to those once he finishes off the bag of adult pellets. Or is that not necessary?

Oh LOL I thought hay crumbs were what people were talking about when they say dust?? Cuz wouldn’t these crumbs cause respiratory issues and sneezing? I guess I’ll sprinkle them in his pellet plate then :))

It is actually recommended to have rabbits that are going to be bonded live side by side as neighbors, so that set-up sounds great to me. 🙂 Once the new bun is settled in, you can start swapping which rabbit is on which side to help the process even more (called “pre-bonding”). The idea is that the buns get very used to each other’s scents and…[Read more]

Hi guys, I was wondering what exactly counts as dust for alfalfa hay. Do the leaves that have fallen off and crumbled count as dust as well or can I still feed that to my rabbit? For example, in the first photo I can definitely tell the stuff at the bottom is dust, but in the second photo, I don’t know if those leaves at the top can be fed to Charlie

LBJ10 replied to the topic Safe plastic toys? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 5 years, 8 months ago
Hard plastic baby keys or stacking cups are considered safe. Bite marks can accumulate on the surface, but it’s very difficult for them to actually bite pieces off.
